Future of the 'Inflation Reduction Act" explained

Gloss over this. We are going to be hurting. Imagine, taxing and spending during an inflation crisis. Instead of reducing inflation (Jesus...), these are the real particulars, to jar your preserves. A bit of Suzianne's 'fear' for you.

Y'all can keep going on and on about Jan 6, and MaraLago, which will play out, but which will have ZERO effect on our lives. This stuff is more serious, don't you think? Let's just have the Sonhouse reports occasionally, one die-hard is enough, and just see what is about to happen nationwide.
Marauder nailed me earlier on the time of day of the famous Raid, but was that an insignificant scrap. THIS is not.

From your link:

"The agreement on the IRA was reached by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), the latter of whom claims he made the agreement because there are no tax increases, just the closing of loopholes. "

Manchin is a conservative. More proof they ruin everything

Two Democrats get together and you claim conservatives are to blame?

First of all, the website you are using is pretty far right BUT their facts are fairly accurate which does not mean their interpretation of the effects of the IRS act is correct. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/citizens-against-government-waste-cagw/
Next, Trump and the current GOP love what Viktor Orban has done to Hungary. Orban was the keynote speaker at the recent annual GOP convention. The current GOP and Trump are interested in turning the U.S. into an authoritarian state run by a dictator. January 6 and Trump's theft of top secret documents show how close the US is to becoming a dictatorship. And yes, that would definitely adversely affect our lives.
Climate change is already adversely affecting lives in our country and internationally. If we do not devote tax dollars to dealing with this crisis, it will cost us lots of $$$. If we do devote tax dollars to dealing with this crisis it will cost us lots of $$$ BUT it will be less $$$$ than if we ignore the problem.
All other democracies negotiate with the same pharmaceutical companies the U.S. uses yet we are forced to pay far more for drugs people need to survive.
I am sure the bill is not perfect. However, gas prices are now below $4/gallon. Unemployment is still at historically low levels. Both of these facts indicate we are probably not going to experience a recession. Food prices are bound to rise for two reasons. Climate change induced drought and possible future extreme flooding is likely to destroy much of the Sacramento Valley food belt. The Beef, pork and poultry industries have become monopolies, much like the baby formula industry. Without competition, these few companies are able to jack up prices. Agricultural monopolies are bad for consumers and they hurt farmers and ranchers as well.
I do believe that the stimulus checks the Biden administration handed out last year helped stimulate inflation. There were people who actually needed the money but many, including me, did not. Giving significant sums of money to middle class people who did not need it was a political move to mollify people like me who dislike the handouts the GOP gives to the super rich. By giving an unnecessary financial bump to the middle class, Democrats avoided being accused of giving money to the "lazy" (I do not believe people suffering economic disaster due to the effect of Covid on our economy are lazy) and they felt it would endear the middle class to the party. People raced to spend their windfall which, along with Covid created supply chain issues, created inflation. The Ukraine war and climate change are also creating supply chain problems. The money the GOP gave the super rich did not cause inflation. Building a few more personal jets, super yachts and the sale of more mega mansions does not cause inflation.

Manchin is a conservative Democratic from a red state; his vote is needed by Dems to pass legislation so Dems have to agree with what this conservative wants to have any hope of getting things done. That includes compromises Dems don't like.

More proof conservatives ruin everything.

Manchin opposed Biden for months because he was protecting the coal industry. Here's a reminder:

Manchin used politics to protect his family coal company

It took Dems having to agree to the B.S. you and JJ were complaining about in order to change Manchin's mind. More proof conservatives like Manchin ruin everything.

Right, like ANY of the ultrarightwingnuts here would deign to read ANY of that because they won't have to have that cognitive dissonance thing going.
If inflation magically went to 1% they would just claim it was because of Trump.

@AverageJoe1
"The price index for all consumer goods and services was unchanged over the month. And the annual rate of inflation in July edged down to 8.5% from 9.1% in June, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics in a report issued Wednesday."

Inflation IS coming down. Not a waterfall down but down nonetheless.

Funny, I see him as a Democrat representing West Virginia who turned on his own people

Let’s say you are correct and Trump is a fascist who wanted to set up a dictatorship. Hooray, he was caught, and will face the music. The coup is all over…, why do you say in this post that it will negatively affect our lives, since it is not happening? Do you see how confusing you liberals are?. I am going to play golf I need some air.
