Oh, I don't know, I reckon George could make a good fist of it.

Yes, especially if there are broom handles around!

he is now getting an audience of which, a sizeable number are non-voters. it could be a way of promoting his views to a largely non-political audience, many of whom dont vote cos they think politicians are much of a muchness.

remember more votes are cast on big brother than in the last 2 british elections.
Chris - not the more votes on BB myth.

If people were allowed to vote multiple time in political elections, then there would be a lot more votes cast.

There are a lot fewer people who vote in BB - its just that many of them vote lots of times.

I hope it does work out for Galloway, as that's in everyone's political interests. I just don't see it.

How demeaning. Can't believe he would do that.

I didn't see it, so I can't comment on how demeaning it was, though I saw all sorts of tabloid headlines at the weekend.

The problem with these programs, for someone like Galloway, is that he's going to be in a no-win situation.

If he takes part in the various activities and tasks of the house, he will no doubt and up looking like a prat on some occasions. That's part of the purpose of these tasks, I'd imagine. However, the alternative is for him to argue that he is above that kind of thing, and refuse to take part, and that would make him look even worse, and would contradict his stated aim of making politicians appear more human.

Whichever way he behaves, the tabloids will have a field day.

That's exactly why I'm surprised he went in!
I saw a stills montage of the cat thing - I think they whole idea of the programme is to see how low they can make "celebrities" stoop.
On the non-celebrity BB, contestants will stoop very low because they are nobodies and want to get on TV.
For supposed celebrities to do the same thing is even more astounding.
I suppose that's why people watch it.

I've been thinking this move of his and I'm nearly at the point of agreeing with you Chris.

I don't think he'll pull it off (in a positive sense), but if he does, he's gonna reach millions.

Anytime Galloway talks about the war, or politics in general, the producers aren't broadcasting it.
He possibly doesn't know this, but I don't think he's reaching millions.

I wish he was, and I think he's brave to do it, but I'm still not convinced.
