It’s very strange how German law works on this one.
A rapist got a light sentence (no idea why).
And a woman, not involved with the crime, got a light sentence (compared to the full extent of German laws in inflamatory insulting).
But this sentence was indeed harsher than the sentence the rapist got.
I obviously never agree with making insulting people a crime. Damn, I’d be posting from Arthur rd. if it was!
Germany has very strict anti-inflamatory laws. They have a… well… sort of a bit of a history of getting whipped up into a hated frenzy… so… yeah…
Why that rapist got off lightly is quite beyond me. But I don’t know the case well, and I don’t know if there were any circumstances being taken into consideration.
One would hope it was weighed correctly. This woman obviously thought not.

* The rapists have been youth and have been convicted to suspended youth arrest. (I am not happy about that, but that is how the law is).
* The woman had been convicted previously and so she couldn't evade the sentence.
It still feels not right to be sure.
I would presume, in Germany, that besides punishment, they get forced into various programs to get them to see the error of their ways, and that sort of thing.
