The "proof" is not by any means conclusive that the warming is man made. Warming is happening at the moment but, from what I have read at no greater rate than it has done before.
is contributing meaningfully to it?

My problem with the global warming issue is the number of governments - and my experience is the UK and EU - are raising taxes, and harming industry to be "green". I would prefer to get tax relief to choose the greener alternative (this makes me suspicious from the start)
The "proof" is not by any means conclusive that the warming is man made. Warming ...[text shortened]... believes either side of the argument and has no interest in the other side is a fool.

Science follows two streams - theory and experiment.
AGW is still theory.
then why do you thrash it like it were "Earth is flat" theory?
yes it is a theory. like all theories, some aspects are correct and some are wrong.
what the greenies are doing wrong is dramatize and exaggerate all aspects concerning global warming.
what the anti GW people are doing wrong is:
- associate this theory with gore(he is an idiot). Gore is a politician, he isn't in any way responsible for the development of this theory. So whatever stupid thing he saids and does shouldn't be used as an argument against this theory(which many of the anti GW peopl are doing)
- think that mankind is incapable of disrupting the balance. False modesty aside, we are capable of massive damage and some.
- think that we have a lot of time. no we don't. maybe not as little as the greenies are shouting but still the end is near. and not just CO2 emissions. Co2 isn't the only one responsible. We dump CO2, nitrogen oxides, a lot of other gases, we cut forests, we pollute waters, wipe out entire species. GW is just one aspect of the problem which is that we live like locusts, without any consideration whatsoever. At the current rate, oil reserves will end by 2050(old study, maybe that date is even nearer now). What are we going to do without oil? Nevermind the CO2 released in the atmosphere. Lack of plastics and medicines will be of much greater concern than the climate being a little messed up( little, according to the anti GW, more if we listen to the greenies)

How can there be anything approaching "conclusive proof" when every day there is new evidence that disputes, mitigates or repudiates what the Goracle and his ass-kissing sycophants have to say?
Originally posted by der schwarze RitterWhat new data? The data all supports the anthropogenic theory. It really is as close to proven as you can get.

Originally posted by ZahlanziI disagree: Do you recall Gore's little movie which he won an Oscar for or the conspicuous rock 'n' roll spectacle he held a couple of weekends ago? Gore is laying the groundwork for a new religion: Live Earth. He's already set himself up as its high priest and he's annointed Leonardo DiCaprio as his altar boy and Madonna and Cheryl Crow as his temple harlots. Don't underestimate the Goracle; this thing has the potential to be far bigger than the Dutch tulip crisis!
