Week 15 God’s Forgiveness
It is God’s desire that every believer live a victorious Christian life. Yet,
God knows that there will be times when we will yield to sin and temptation. In His graciousness God has provided a way for us, through confession, to be forgiven and cleansed from all sin.
1. Circle key words and phrases in the following Scriptures.
My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
1 JOHN 2:1
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our
weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
HEBREWS 4:15–16
He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and
renounces them finds mercy.
PROVERBS 28:13
* If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 JOHN 1:9
Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I
said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD”—and you forgave the guilt of my sin.
PSALM 32:5
As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
PSALM 103:12
