Wonder how many times these >facts< were C&Ped ?

"In an amusing story, a government-funded media outlet notorious for its liberal slant found that the overwhelming majority of school shootings listed in a federal report never occurred. The embarrassing blunder involves Department of Education (DOE) figures stating that schools around the U.S. reported an alarming 235 shootings in one year. National Public Radio (NPR) launched an investigation and actually contacted every one of the schools included in the DOE data, which was gathered by its Office for Civil Rights. The figures focus on the 2015-2016 school year and reveal that “nearly 240 schools…reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting.”
Three months later, after every school was contacted by NPR, the stats changed drastically. More than two-thirds of the reported gun incidents never happened, according to the news outlet. “We were able to confirm just 11 reported incidents, either directly with schools or through media reports,” the article states. “In 161 cases, schools or districts attested that no incident took place or couldn’t confirm one. In at least four cases, we found, something did happen, but it didn’t meet the government’s parameters for a shooting. "

Presumably you won't mind pointing us to this alleged "federal report", or perhaps even a link?

Here's the link to the government report. Perhaps our conservative led, NRA fed government officials want to make our country seem more violent than it is in order to encourage more people to be armed, including kindergarten teachers.

Conservatives simply don't know how to lead except through fear.

You do realize that this DOE is the very same agency headed by Betsy DeVos, a Trump appointee, yes?

Thanks for pointing out another blunder by Trump's Swamp.

Ummm...you do realize the data was from the 2015/16 school year? Neither Trump nor DeVos were there except for a few days.

Page 2:

In addition to the foregoing incidents of serious offenses, for the first time, the CRDC required schools to report on school-related shootings and school-related homicides. Nearly 240 schools (0.2 percent of all schools) reported at least 1 incident involving a school-related shooting, and over 100 schools (0.1 percent of all schools) reported a school-related homicide involving a student, faculty member, or staff member.
About 1 out of every 100,000 students was enrolled in a school that reported a school-related shooting or school-related homicide duringthe 2015–16 school year.

NPR and an independent research organization contacted every one of these schools. The data is false. http://www.wbur.org/hereandnow/2018/08/28/school-shootings-report-education-department

And in this case, releasing manipulated data. In 2018, to fulfill an agenda.

Do keep talking, Mott. Want a shovel to dig your hole deeper?

From YOUR OWN OP: "National Public Radio (NPR) launched an investigation and actually contacted every one of the schools included in the DOE data"

One of the more interesting tricks that you see is when they define a mass shooting as any occasion in which three or more are short, and then they put up the information in direct reference to something with school shootings.

I kind of get it but it is entirely misleading as the mass shootings in these cases are far more related to gang violence and narcotics disputes than they are to kids with guns.

From the article...

About a quarter of schools didn’t respond to our inquiries.”

You are either ignorant or willfully lying...which is it? Contacting doesn't mean getting a response. LOL
