@suzianne saidI'm not a lawyer but, I don't believe this,
This is the problem with the right.
You people say, "IT DOESN'T SAY GAY IN THE BILL!!!!!!!"
No, it doesn't. But it DOES say that there will be no classroom instruction mentioning sexual orientation or gender identity. WTF IS that, except "Don't Say Gay"?
Idiots. No, it doesn't SAY it, but it sure as hell MEANS it.
This is the way Metal Brain gets half the stuff wrong that he does.
'DON'T SAY GAY,' bill will pass judicial muster,
because, if you read it, it seems to this layman,
to be much too vague.
First off, it's not the GOP doing this, it's the individual school districts and it's due to parents complaining about them. You don't know what the political affiliation of the concerned parents is.
Second off, they are simply removing them from school libraries, the books are still available, so they aren't being banned at all.

@jj-adams saidThere are 4 times as many registered Republicans in Utah than Dems. Combined with How many ultra conservative Mormons Utah has, the chances that it's mostly conservatives calling for book bans are pretty high.
You mean ALL of the angry parents are conservative Republicans?
None of them are Democrats or identify as being liberal?
How do you know this?
@vivify saidSo....parents can't complain to the school district and have salacious reading material removed from their schools?

They can't object to the LBGQT agenda being forced on their children?
What does Utah have to do with this? It's happening all over the country.
There are a lot of people who voted for Biden and considered themselves liberal that are objecting to this sort of reading material in our elementary schools.
@jj-adams saidYour comment was "it's not the GOP". I'm merely pointing out that in this case it's the Republicans banning books. Whether you agree with this or not, I don't care.

@vivify saidAnd once again, my question is HOW DO YOU KNOW what the political affiliation is of all these parents, or whether they identify as conservative or liberal?

Also once again, it's NOT the GOP doing this, its individual school boards doing it because of complaints from parents.
