@jj-adams saidLOL They're not "banning" them, they're simply "removing" them.
First off, it's not the GOP doing this, it's the individual school districts and it's due to parents complaining about them. You don't know what the political affiliation of the concerned parents is.
Second off, they are simply removing them from school libraries, the books are still available, so they aren't being banned at all.
I hate to bothsides this, but libs ban books too. I was particularly annoyed when they came for To Kill a Mockingbird, maybe one of the best books I've ever read.
Can we get a cease fire here?
Of course it's easier to just ban books than actually talk to kids about why they have various viewpoints and ideas.
@wildgrass saidOnce, when Nixon's Press Secretary, Ron Zeigler,
LOL They're not "banning" them, they're simply "removing" them.
was asked about an obvious lie, that was told previously by the administration replied, ''No, we just decided that all previous statements were inoperable...The reporter persisted, ''You mean you lied.''''No,'' Zeigler repeated, ''We just decided that all previous
statements, on the subject were deemed inoperable.''
.....They went back and forth like that...They were, at least a bit more finessed with their misinformation back then.
@wildgrass saidYOU ARE WRONG ABOUT LIBERAL BIAS of HARPER LEE's CLASSIC,

everyone, at one time or another has wanted the book banned.
For different reasons.....Huckleberry Finn is often banned or abridged for it's racist language. That is past history, in the mines of time with, 'Lady Chatterley's Lover,'
and Lolita.....These books are more recent publications with a more concerted, political effort put forth to ban them, branding them as gay/lesbian diversion books or CRT books.
@jimm619 saidIssue is "potential harm" in California apparently because it talks about the realities of racism.

is censorship, I'm opposed to that case too.
