First off, it's not the GOP doing this, it's the individual school districts and it's due to parents complaining about them. You don't know what the political affiliation of the concerned parents is.
Second off, they are simply removing them from school libraries, the books are still available, so they aren't being banned at all.

These books are being removed from school libraries due to inappropriate sexual content for young children.
They are not banned; you can buy one anytime you want.

No, they are being removed from different school districts because PARENTS are complaining.
It has nothing to do with GOP "thought police". It is being handled at the local level by PARENTS that don't want their children exposed to LBGTV smut in school.
What is your problem with that? Don't people have the right to control what kind of sexual literature their children are given in school?

Critics are adding their own slant to it, making up a lot of what MIGHT be, what COULD be, etc.
Let us know if any law ever does that, then you MIGHT have something to complain about.
