Ever heard of the term "inalienable right"? Human rights cannot be made illegal. The laws which criminalize the exercise of human rights are themselves illegal.
What does being liberal have to do with anything? There's no "should" about whether he's on the news, but Gore is not a presidential candidate any more, as far as I know does not talk about drugs or family values, and this is his son - not him.

EDIT - Of course libertarians will seem like liberals to you. We seem like conservatives to liberals also. My Mom thinks I'm a conservative.

That's true. However since no one has offered any links, I have not read the article. If this thread were about DUI it would be different. But it's not about DUI. It's just about UI (being under the influence).
