Ever heard of the term "inalienable right"? Human rights cannot be made illegal. The laws which criminalize the exercise of human rights are themselves illegal.
What does being liberal have to do with anything? There's no "should" about whether he's on the ne ...[text shortened]... to you. We seem like conservatives to liberals also. My Mom thinks I'm a conservative.[/b]

You get my meaning. Damn politicians think they are better than the rest of of peons.

Gore isn't washed up. His face is plastered all over the news lately. Some even speculate he will run again. You made my point. When the Bush bimbos got busted for drinking it was all over the news. Why does the press cover it up when it concerns a Lib. They were hands off on Chelsea when her Father was in office.
Bush's dumb daughters and Gore's dumb son got roughly equal amounts of attention (refer to the
links cited above), which is more attention than they deserved considering I think the actions of a
President's daughter or former Vice President's son are not newsworthy.
As a Presidential candidate, Gore is washed up. It would be basically ceding the race to the Republicans
to give him the Democratic nomination. His face is plastered on the news because of his non-political
discussions on environment and the controversy that arises from asking people to be responsible
stewards of the earth for the future when such responsibility might impact them in the present.

And thanks for the stats on precentage of drug users. That explains why 2/3 on the people in these forums are wastes of oxygen.
Much ado about very little. This is only "news" because of who it is.
On the other hand, that WAS quite a pharmacuetical banquet he was holding. Those muscle-relaxers he had are ectremely powerful from what friends tell me.
Looks like a cry for help .. like, "HELP!, I think this cop is gonna pull me over!"
No worries .. Dad can get the best liars .. I mean lawyers, available. He'll be in a "program" and get probation (JMO)
He had marijuana, under an ounce, in California that's a $100 fine. California decriminalized pot 30 years ago and made it a parking-ticket style offense. I know this because after the law was passed in 1977 I was stopped on the street , given a ticket, and my friends and I went on our merry way.
He had Vicodin. Big deal. I had a tooth pulled last year and they gave me a big-old botlte of them.
Much ado about nothing, except for his reckless driving. THAT was a hazard and a crime.
