Ahem, the Cocos islands are administered by Australia. You know, the country where we both live. They're not actually independent. Do you still want them on the list?
We own Heard and McDonald islands too. I should know, I answered a question on Sale of the Century about them. And Christmas Island (you should know THAT, if only because of the detention centre).

The fact that you have "United States Minor Outlying Islands" right after "United States" only proves that you copied this list from somewhere without thinking about the contents. Who do you think owns the United States Minor Outlying Islands?!
My point is the same as in the other thread, WHERE YOU COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT OF HALF MY POST! You cannot possibly equate USA with Bouvet Island. No-one recognizes Bouvet Island as independent. Whereas the USA is unquestionably independent in the relevant sense.
I often think you have a valid point, Stang, but for heavens' sake learn to fight the right battles!
