@wildgrass saidI wrote 'anti-drug policy'. Don't tell us that you are into lexical semantics. I think only Suzianne gets to correct us on word meanings. Policy can have a wide berth of applications. I think the word 'set' has about 400 definitions.
Back up. You wrote that it looks like the "policy" of airstriking people in boats on open waters is working to stem drug traffickers.
Why did you write that?
I would think on a forum such as this that you need not get anal on a simple statement which is easily understandable given the nature of the topics.
@AverageJoe1 saidYou're caught in semantics not me. Why do you think the policy is working?

@wildgrass saidThere are many policies. Border closing? Working. This one, the war on drugs, is working with each blocking of drug shipments and has geopolitical advantages. You could Google Americas Quarterly Geopolitics Trump War On Drugs. Takes a while, esp with all Trump has to do.

The guy is really working doing the business of this country. Do you know that yesterday‘s cabinet meeting was the ninth cabinet meeting that Trump has had in 10 months? Do you know that Biden had only exactly 9 cabinet meetings his entire four years?? liberals are nothing.

@AverageJoe1 saidAnother good way of stopping the drug problem in America would be for Americans to stop taking them. If the demand isn't there, the supply goes away.
It looks like Trump‘s anti-drug policy is working once more, after shooting a few boats they have all stopped coming across the water. It is called a deterrent. Not a perfect process, but it sure has worked. Let’s keep the drugs out of our country kids
@wildgrass saidI only know what I read in the papers. Rather than paraphrase, you could look this over, inform your own opinions, like we all do.
Why do you think the policy is working?
According to provisional data from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. drug overdose deaths dropped about 26.9% in 2024 compared with 2023 (from ~110,037 to ~80,391).
•That is the largest single-year drop ever recorded in the ~45-year history of comparable data.
•The drop includes declines in deaths involving opioids, stimulants, and synthetic drugs.
•Overdose fatalities have reached their lowest level since 2019, reversing a sharp peak in 2022–2023.
•Public health experts attribute part of the decline to factors such as: expanded access to the overdose-reversal medication naloxone, wider availability of treatment for substance use disorders, improved overdose-data collection & response infrastructure, and changes in the illegal drug supply or usage patterns.
@YEAH-BOY saidSo 'no convictions' means you approve of all of Obama's drone strikes that killed civilians? Non combatants ? Innocent people?
No convictions little feller.Cry in your bourbon.
Please explain your stance on murdering other countries civilians, and American civilians in these drone strikes.

@AverageJoe1 saidVery few overdose deaths are caused by anything on those boats coming from venezuela.

And, obviously, 2024 is a full calendar year before we started the "blowing up the boats" policy. Maybe you're congratulating something Biden did?
@wildgrass saidcouldn't say, not the historical maven that you and some others are. I am a current events guy, unless I have to reach back to remind you little fellers of democrats' 'iindescretions' in the past to round out a few of your bitchy posts!! 😀

@wildgrass saidOh, so the boats are not the source of overdoses. Then, you and your buddies here say to stand down, just let them through........kinda like the border?? Stand down, wave them in. Hand them driver licenses, medical care cards.

A weak bunch you are. Do you ever talk about dem campaign issues? Do you have any? For the betterment of America? Like, reducing taxes?
Here is one. After govt requires freezing of rents, can they require th meat market to freeze the cost of hamburger* meat, and milk, and eggs? Tell the grocer...."that's it, Mac. You can not charge more, work it out, kiss off.."
*yankees say 'burger' meat.
@AverageJoe1 saidNo, you stupid fool. No one is saying that.

We are saying "Let's use the most powerful Navy in the world and interdict these boats." How about a blockade of Venezuela? Stop and inspect every ship in and out. Would that satisfy you? Why not? Bloodthirsty much?
No, you don't want there to be evidence of your murders. Hypocrites.
@AverageJoe1 saidSo you just say, "Screw all that, let's just kill some Venezuelans."

The Trumpublicans* just want to kill people. And Hegseth just loves "playing army".
I wonder how many times a day he begs Trump for "just one little war."
( * Note: Not Donald Jr.'s stupid "Trumplicans". What an idiot.)
@AverageJoe1 saidYour stats showing the biggest decrease in overdose deaths (mostly from fentanyl) came in 2024, a full year before we started blowing boats out the water.

And you say the drug war policy of blowing boats out of the water is working. Why do you think that?
And you refuse to acknowledge that what is on those boats, while it is drugs, are not what's killing Americans. The drugs on those boats are being sold for a very high price in America because they are a valuable commodity that people want.
