but you're forgetting some people!
clapton! vai, satriani, van halen, king, the dead guy that played with ozzy, the new guy with the beard and the les paul that plays with ozzy, and -erm- lotsa others...
but yeah-hendrix was the first great guitarist. he put elctric guitar on the map! plus, he played with his teeth...😀

A few years ago I went to a show co-starred by Santana and Jeff Beck. I was dissappointed with Santana; gone were the sweeping lyrical lines of the earlier Santana that were unmistakingly *him*; he sounded like a (good) bar-band player, much like everyone else.
Beck sounded awesome, it was right after "Guitar Shop" was released.
Hendrix or Santana? Bit like asking Morphy or Steinitz? 🙂
