Can medicine which contains no active ingredient work at all? Very difficult question. Here's another one to think about: Santa Claus, real or imaginary?

I believe its fairly well-known that saint nicholas was a historical individual, even if there were subsequent fabrications and mythology involved, so I think you should have chosen another question to reinforce the intended sarcasm of your reply.

I think it's also quite well known that the historical individual is dead.

Which ever way, it's not for you to decide for others. People that believe in homeopathic remedies should not have their ability to pursue those remedies hindered by paying for treatments they do not believe nor make use of.

Placebos are quite effective, so if he believes in it, then I am sure it has indeed helped him. "Western" or more accurately scientifically supported medicine has the benefit of having both active ingredients and a placebo effect. Double the strength!

Is anyone forced to pay for medicine they don't want?

Homeopathy is a prime example of fraud, why do I see you defending it?

Any country that has any kind of public health system funded through general taxation is making people that prefer homeopathis treatments pay for treatment they do not use. Od even more diabolical is when the public health system starts dabbling in homeopathic remedies.

Unfortunately the British taxpayers have been forced to pay for this rubbish since NuLabour has funded it via the NHS. It merely acts as a very expensive plecebo.

That is pretty retarded. Don't they have any scientists in their advisory panels?
