My county ( 100k people ) had maybe 6 deaths the entire first 9 months. Now we have 250. There is some reason why it ripped through every major metropolitan area in the US first? Its not less deadly to rural community, but it has taken significantly more time to infiltrate. As far as mask wearing etc...I have seen a miniscule % of people not wearing masks in public here...kids haven't been in school...ie they have been doing the same thing as the rest of the US so what did it get us? How much time did it really buy? How many lives did it save? My estimate...slim to none.
Well that’s clearly a factor n the big US Towns and Cities but why haven’t the more sparsely populated areas of the US done better.
I’m sure population density is a given in terms of factors but so is adherence to lock down and mask guidance and that’s where both the US and certainly the UK have performed really badly.

Even if it was indeed underreported and it was say ten times worse, 40 or 50 thousand dead, with a population of a bil and a half and we in the US have 1/3 of a bil and over a third of a MILLION dead.
Who do you think is worse off?

Stop with the design bullshyte. Human science anywhere on the planet is not up to 'designing' a target as specific as C19. Medical science and genetics are both WAY above your pay grade.
Look up how many combinations such protein's are possible, you are into math, then tell us again how we could design something so specific.
