Why is a certain strain of fundamentalist Christian OBSESSED with homosexuality?
My best friend at school is gay. He doesn't hit on me (and why should he, there's heaps better looking guys around) and I don't ask him about what he does. Like we share a room but we're both cool about the situation, so what's the big deal about being gay?
Like I'm about as interested in what he does with his thingy as he is in what I do with mine. Being gay is no biggy, like it's been around since before Alexander the Great, and it's no one else's business but the people concerned.
And for the religious right who get their knickers in a knot about it, if someone is gay, then it's because God made him that way.

Being gay is indeed a choice if you ask me. There is no medical proof that people are born this way. In fact, up until 1970 something, being a homosexual was considered a mental disorder and you were placed into an asylum. So what happened? I sugest no one ask you on anything. Homosexuality is the attraction. No one chooses to be attracted to another person. Its part of their fundamental personality. Read up on some psychology. There is also compelling evidence that homosexuality is genetic.
As for the 1970's they performed nasty things such as labotamy's and electric shock treatment (they thought this would cure depression, while the former would cure anger. Did it work?). If you are suggesting the 1970's have any credibility, you are merely asserting your lack of understanding of mental illness. Linking homosexuality with mental illness disgusts me and just perpetuates ignorance in society.
