Actually China succeeded in getting a meaningless, toothless resolution passed rather than the one basically calling for war that our dimwit President wanted. Bush agreed to it for PR reasons so idiots like you would think something got done.
Actually, our dimwitt president still wanted to talk it over diplomatically. It was Japan that wanted the war.

Really?

Well. I'll be damned. They are not starving because china is feeding them.

Really? Why would the chinese do that? They hate the Koreans no end. Say! I got it. Maybe the chinese are USING the koreans against the US in support of their own purposes.
The Chinese using the Koreans??

Kinda like the sort of thing you aren't doing to this chess site??

The rest of the world is out of sync. Sometimes the best tools are a hammer and duct tape--know what i mean?

The only problem is, america is the only country with duct tape, and we also have the biggest hammer--so the world has it do it our way.

I think the attitude of the USA is the same as every other country's attitude towards all other countries: what's good for us is good. Do you believe there are altruistic countries?

I believe not all are so trigger happy. See Canada for example.

Sooner or later we'll have to shoot 'em with one or two of those submarine bullets.
Iran/China/Russia will feed them just enough to keep the Army and workers alive.
The little bunboy will be NKs god until someone kills him .. and then the strongest General will take over.
Meet the new boss .. blah blah
NK/Cuba are the last of the Commies. Just bitchslap 'em back to reality once in awhile and if they get too crazy just go ahead and nuke 'em.
thats pretty much it in a nutshell I reckon.

The chinese have hated the US since we supported their enemy after ww2 and they always will hate the us.
Might be missing a joke here, but I'm unsure as to whether I agree on China hating Korea and the US. The US didn't exactly 'support' Japan after the WW2, they pretty much subjected them to America's wishes. If anything, I'd say it has more to do with support for the KMT/Taiwan. But I'd also suggest that China dearly needs the US markets to dump on and without them China would be far less affluent (like most of the rural population in China!). I think China would be happy to have regional (Taiwan, Central Asia, continental SE Asia, Japan) influence and leave it at that for another 50-100 years. China's military is based on sovereign defence, not regional supremacy as of yet. It cannot afford to hate the US.

As for hating the DPRK, why would they do that? I'm sure they look down on them as pathetic, backward hicks, but hate? I'm unconvinced of that. China has successfully made itself the DPK's largest trading partener and uses that as leverage against the DPRK in times of concern...., right now being that time I'd say! If DPRK pushes too hard, Japan will change its pacifist constitution and become a greater threat to China. If the DPRK folds it could well be re-unified with the ROK and chance a western influenced nation on China's northern border.

China uses the DPRK to test the US's resolve, but I'd think that's about it.

Canada is a bad example SS. You might as well have compared Tibet to China.

Superpower must be compared to superpower. Compare with China or Russia and now I suppose even the EU may be considered to be a superpower. Perhaps even terrorist groups the world over if considered a single force may be looked at as a superpower. And they are trigger-happy.

Its also the question of 'how power is wielded'. First an entity has to have 'power' of some sort, then it has to be able to 'reach' their proclaimed enemies (in retaliation or first strike). Then they 'pull the trigger'. Terrorists as a worldwide phenomenon don't have much restraint when it comes to being 'trigger happy'. They also have a far greater tendancy to use a 'first strike' than a nation would because there are less consequences for a terrorist group. Far less political, world image and social consequences.

Then there is the dilema of 'who actually fired the first shot'...etc, etc. A tough problem further compounded.

We should take everyone involved in the current situation, put them all in the middle of Canada and have a 'terrorist vs civilization Olympics'. Running, swimming, weightlifting, etc - just like any summer olympics. The winner gets to set terms and the UN oversees the results for balance. 😀

Not possible. North Korea has a big brother too. But hey, glad to see you are coming around.
North Korea has no big brother, China is just as unhappy and nervous about them as everybody else. Kim is a psychopath nut job, everybody knows it, and the people of North Korea are suffering terribly under him.
