Chat GPT has written a Bible verse on how Jesus might have dealt with a transgender person. The verse is thought-provoking and seems to capture the literary style of the NT perfectly.
I won't belabor the entire article. If you want to read it, you can find it at the link above. I'll cut to the chase, though, and give you the verse right here.
This is what ChatGPT came up with.
********************************
And a woman, whose heart was divided between spirit and body, came before him. In quiet despair, she asked, 'Lord, I come to you estranged, for my spirit and body are not one. How shall I hope to enter the Kingdom of God?'
Jesus looked upon her with kindness, replying, 'My child, blessed are those who strive for unity within themselves, for they shall know the deepest truths of my Father's creation. Be not afraid, for in the Kingdom of God, there is no man nor woman, as all are one in spirit. The gates of my Father's kingdom will open for those who love and are loved, for God looks not upon the body, but the heart.'

As a member of the LGBT community and a Christian, this strikes me as something probably not far from the truth of how Jesus might deal with a trans person. I know some narrow-minded Christians might see this as blasphemy, but to me, it sings with truth and beauty.
@suzianne saidThe thoughtful verse does smack of Zen, but certainly well done.

If I had to be contrarian, which the libs are on 100% of posts, I would note that Jesus is thinking about heaven, opening the Gates of the Kingdom of God to this woman, where are all equal. But, I believe she was asking about present day, as she lives among her peers and all the children of God on this earth. She needs guidance as she wrestles, today on this earth, with transgenderism, being part of only 1.3M people, a huge minority.
@suzianne said“The Bible knows no other gender categories besides male and female. While men and women in Scripture may express their masculinity and femininity in a wonderful diversity of ways, Scripture still operates with the binary categories of men and women. You are one or the other. The anomaly of intersex individuals does not undermine the creational design, but rather gives another example of creational “groaning” and the “not the way they are supposed to be” realities of a fallen world. Likewise, the eunuchs in Matthew 19 do not refer to sexless persons, but to men who were born without the ability to procreate or who were castrated, likely for a royal court (for more on the challenge of intersex, and the question of eunuchs.”

@wildgrass saidMatthew 19:12, specifically.
The bible has a verse about eunuchs who were born that way right?
@wildgrass saidRight-wing "Christianity" doesn't do Christians any favors.
This verse would seem to undercut whatever pseudo-religious scholar Mott is quoting above.

@mott-the-hoople saidMany passages in the bible are open to interpretation based on your preexisting bias. But It's really difficult to read the aforementioned bible passage and conclude anything other than that Matthew was affirming both birthright transgender and choice-based transgender individuals, and asking for acceptance.

@suzianne saidJesus spoke his most encouraging and kind words to those who were aware of their many flaws and humbly sought God's forgiveness - no matter who they were.
