Everyone. is it acceptable to allow someone to walk up to a voting table and vote, without showing an ID.....Without showing who they are? Keeping in mind, that ID must be shown for such things as buying whiskey, get medical care, fill a prescription, enter govt buildings or NYC office buildings. get on an airplane???
Are you able to buy a gun without an ID.?

In the Netherlands:

Yes. You have to show an ID when you go to vote and your voter’s pass.

And voting by mail works differently.
Everyone is sent their voter’s pass and voting sheet. They can’t be sent until date X.
You have your voter’s pass and your voting sheet. You cross who you want to vote for on your voters sheet. Place this in the return envelope. Sign your ...[text shortened]... her) the “I’ll let him cast my vote for me” option.
That is the level of fraud we’re talking about.
Very good. A plan is in place. Of course, not foolproof. But it appears that your officials will see an ID. That is all that this thread is about, and it appears that you see the sense in knowing who is voting. A vote for ID!!

Yes, i could have a communist brother who does whatever,...or, I could make my wife vote how to tell her too. Yes, there could be fraud. Then you suggest that a voting officer is qualified to compare signatures? I know that I myself could hardly do that. How can they do that? Is that person our last line of defense? C'mon....
But, Duchess, true to form, you avoid the ONE question on this thread as you go off on a tangent. Is it OK to go to a voting precinct and vote without proving identity with anID??? What a simple question. A one word answer, but it is not forthcoming. Can you not state your answer? Without ad hoiminem at me? All I did was pose the question?? Duchess?

You mean like when purchasing guns at a gun show?
That kind of ID requirement?

Duchess64 presumes to lecture Americans about American law.
Yet, never let it be heard that one knows more about China than she does.

More shameless hypocrisy from the troll.

So the Question is self-answering: No any voter has to Show an ID.

Now please Show where in the law you are attacking it is said that the voter has not show an ID. Verbatim Quote would be appreciated.

Everyone 'note' that Shav, above, answered the ONE Simple question of this thread....he thinks a person has to present an ID card to vote.
Now, note, Ponderable and the effervescent Duchess continue with all kinds of comments and links about states and this and that, ad nauseam, but they do NOT answer the question. What in the heck is wrong with liberals in these debates? Duchess says 'many states require no documents at all.' Wow, Duchess. But Duchess, in case you missed the one question, do you think people should be able to vote without an ID? And you say above that I, Average Joe, evade a question??????????????????????????????? Pitiful debating. Hey, and you never told us why it makes a difference as to the profession or lifestyle of a poster when an issue is brought to the fore. Could you answer that , but can you answer this first, we all wait with baited breath.

PS>>>what question did I evade?

Show my my evasion I answered a plain NO.

Then I asked you to sow where the new law says that no Id was necessary. I think that to be reasonable since your whole thread builts on the hypothesis that the new law would allowing to vote without id.

A good point, tho my question was simplified on purpose for 'certain' posters to have to answer it straight out....which STILL does not seem to work.
My premise is based on the HR1 bill which does, indeed, provide references to this subject, all open to interpretation, I guess. BUT, if it is the subject of many sources, websites, news articles, TV reporting, etc, (requiring an ID) then do you not think it is a sticky issue? Don't you think that the Democrats do NOT want ID requirements, as it benefits the Democrats for anyone to vote without ID?

Thus, my basis for having asked this simple question. You cannot deny that dems WANT NO ID requirement, and I simply derive my question from this national issue.

Here is a typical article , the first one I pulled up, for what it is worth. Scroll down to 'Banning Voter ID" and make your own interpretation. My interpretation, they want to get rid of ID. There are many links making this an issue.
