suicide is not always cowardice. im sure it takes a lot of courage to make the difficult decision to end it, and to over-ride the self preservation instinct.
Speaking of living forever, has anyone heard of the teachings of Jesus on this topic?

Which kind of defeats the point of never dying...

there is always something to fight for. if there isn't, then all life must commit suicide. as long as some have the reasons to live on, you can find some reasons too.
Imagine all life in the universe being dead, and no way to bring it back, also imagine having done everything possible, and enough times that you are sick of everything.
Being extremely depressed, lonely, etc, you see no prospect of relief, only death...
Only in circumstances like this would I even consider committing suicide.
This probably wouldn't happen, but if it did...
Originally posted by Bad wolfthose are the circumstances that do allow suicide. don't get me wrong, i believe there must be exceptions to every case. euthanasia(not exactly suicide but if you tell someone to kill you) is ok because a 80 year old guy will die anyway so why not do it in his own terms? stepping in front of a bullet meant for another is also suicide but also sacrifice.

being absolute in a principle is very bad. so yes there are circumstances where suicide is ok. but in principle, when i say suicide is cowardice, i mainly thing the pathetic losers who got left by their girlfriends or the bastards who blow themselves up in a church or school for God.

if need be, I could use time travel to go back to point when the universe would be suitable.
and to answer the last part of your post that I accidentally deleted, no...
death is a part of life...
if I never died, i would:
a.) get bored
b.) not really live life to it's fullest...
that being said, if I could remake an EXACT replica of my consiounse (sp?), I would keep inserting my thoughts into a robot and jump off a bridge every Tuesday just to keep things interesting...
but really!
who wants to stay on this craphole of a planet for ever...
with time travel, how many times do you really want to watch Edison invent the lightbulb, or watch a caveman bang his head against a stone all until he "evolves" (i'm just making a point, I don't believe in cavemen or evolution, God made Man, not a monkey with instructions to become a Man) into a point of realizing where the migraines are coming from...
with time travel you could have fun and mess with history thousands of time. maybe you can gain some deeper understanding of life, the universe and everything. and then you can kill yourself 🙂. i agree that all eternal life must lead to boredom and perhaps even suicide. look what GOd did: he invented us to pass time (please don't smite me, please don't smite me)

power to him. Add to that his sexual perversions* and you've got almost a
God there. You wanted him assassinated? 🙄
* Cigars. I just can't stop thinking about cigars when I hear the name
Clinton. God, I admire that man. He's my idol. 😀
you know of course that to mess with history you have to wait a while. sometimes changing a thing takes hundreds of years to produce effect.
so you would have years and years of fun. and in the end(when even this bores you) you could stop yourself from changing history in the first place which could provide yet more years of gameplay.
