First thing I would do is pull the media away from Iraq, they are causing a negative affect, exactly what the suicide bombers want, pulling the media away and they wont get their attention that they want, so they will stop, and then I would pull our troops away from Iraq ASAP (once the Iraq can take care of itself)
I would cut federal unemployment checks, and medicare, and half of the programs that reward the lazy, use that money to pay off the national debt. (The states can do these programs if they want)
Id make it first priority to pay off national debt, (Id even sell the White House if that's what it takes, Never own something you cant afford) and reform the tax laws, (Like one simple sales tax) Can you imagine how many employees this will save us taxpayers? Once national debt is paid, (easier said then done) then use the money to enforce border security, and then grandfather the illegals in as US citizens, or ship them out one at a time.
I know this all sounds harsh.. but still....
Who votes me for president?
What would you do if you was president? maybe we can vote which RHP'er would make the best president once everyone states what they would do if they was president. 😛
Give states more control over their own states.
Get rid of Daylight Savings Time, (this really makes sense)
Open up some of our rich oil fields, so were not so dependent on the middle east.
Pull most of the Aid that we give other countries, at least until the national debt is paid off, and even then, encourage individuals to help with the foreign aid, Like giving them a big tax break for donating a certain amount.
A fairer system of elections would
be introduced to replace the current winner takes all system. e.g.
when voting for president you would be able to rank all the candidates
instead of pick one so that you can really vote for who you like best
without have to worry about wasting your vote. So if your first choice
is eliminated your vote goes to your second choice and so on
It is the educational system of a nation that
determines the intellectual trends of the next generation; today,
in the United States, our public schools, instead of teaching
freedom, self-reliance and individual initiative, are brainwashing
our youth with the authoritarian doctrines of collectivism. Such a
result is, of course, to be expected when school funding and
control are placed in the hands of government. The solution,
therefore, is to separate the state and education, for the same
reasons as the separation of state and church. This can be
accomplished by eventually privatizing the educational system;
until then, tuition tax credits should be given to the parents
who send their children to a private school. Why should they
have to pay for someone else's education?

Who would vote for me? hehe 😛

I dont think I would ever run for anything. I think the system is way beyond the point of no return on the curve such that the notion that one person truly makes a difference is silenced by the grey suited babbling of 50 odd organizations who out of the 100 foremost economic entities formerly exclusively national governments are now corporations.

Opening up our oil fields would be a mistake. It wouldn't bring gas prices down because we would still be slaves to those who turn oil into gasoline. The middle east isn't the main reason why our gas prices are so high.
The national debt is almost necessary in our current economic model. I don't understand the ins and outs, but basically we need to have a debt. When politicians claim that they are going to work to lower the national debt they generally are just saying that to get votes.
I agree with tax reform, however I disagree that we should have lower taxes (such as only having a sales tax). Lowering taxes is a mistake now and will be a mistake in the future. Spending and budget reform is what we really need.
You have some nice ideas though. You forgot one thing though that you absolutely need as president: young interns who will service your every need.

While the plan MIGHT relieve a bit of the deficit, it would, in the long term, completely DESTROY the US. The general level of education would plunge, the rich would get richer, the poor poorer, and the middle class would probably be destroyed. If someone is unable to find employment for a year due to a lack of jobs, should he or she not get any support at all? Public education is also very important, since it is available to everyone, and creates the opportunity for people to have the potential to become things that require academic knowledge WITHOUT necessarily being rich (although they have to be very intelligent and do well in school). If this were taken away, and as you said, all social security were also cut, then the number of homeless would sky-rocket and so would crime. This would not only cause a need for the police, but would almost put us in the third world. I will say more if necessary, but I believe that I have made myself clear...

If I were President I'd have the guillotines running 24/7. Even on holidays.
I wouldn't vote for anyone who aspires to be a politician, all aspiring politicians wanting to get their filthy hands on the control levers (aka other peoples money) should immediately be disqualified. Failing that, I would vote for the laziest sonuva'b' going.
One of the best, unexpected outcomes of NZ's switch from a 'First Past the Post' to 'Mixed Member Proportional' electoral system is that straight after the elections the pollies are so busy trying to form coalitions and do deals the public has a short period when they're free to live their lives without further interference from the control freaks.
I wouldn't vote for you even if you were running against a monkey with Dick Cheney for a running mate, and that situation was enough to get me to vote for a turd like Kerry.
Your education, economic, and energy policies are ridiculous; and although that doesn't neccesarily stop 50% of the population from voting for you, it stops me.

Try being kind. It isn't ridiculous to think big.
