I looked up,.... could Pelosi be named president if no Pres is chosen by Jan 20? Ends up, no, because as Trump and Pence definitely would have to leave office, so would the speaker of the house. So guess who, according the Fact Check, it would be...Chuck Grassly, a republican Senator. Prob not a thread to discuss, it is what it is, but something to store in the back of your minds, and also the mind of Sonhouse.

BTW, he is EIGHTY SIX years old. Y'all will never get rid of old white men!

Why would the Speaker of the House have to leave office?

(Shrug) That is only if the election is delayed, which would require an Act of Congress.

So it isn't going to happen.

As long as that lying crypto fascist is out of the Oval Office it doesn’t really matter who the Caretaker incumbent is. Caretakers tend to be old white guys where I live and they seem a decent enough bunch.

a) because she was defeated in an election

b) the Repubs take over the House, she can't be speaker.

The elections are at the same time, terms expire at the same time. Just as the presidential term would expire so would ALL that were up for re-election.
