Well, apparently, there's a bunch of people all over the world filled with propoganda about countries and such, and I propose a compromise. Why not invade the Moon? The Moon has no voice, won't defend itself, and won't project propoganda to turn us against it, such that the U.S. can easily label the Moon as a threat, an object possibly becoming a satellite of mass destruction if gravity overtakes it, an opressed object, held captive by the Eath and the Sun's massive and immense power, and the U.S. can spread freedom across it, with none to kill themselves for a cause against it. We'll call it "Operation Moon Shine", and let it shine freely with no help from the Sun, becoming an independant object, with independant credit.. Best of all, people won't think about killing other people, and will unite under a common cause: free the Moon from us and from itself. But what difference is everything said here to people in the U.S. now, wishing for war in Iran. To their eyes, all said about the Moon applies to Iran and other countries. We're supposeedly "opressed" but we have no voivce, we are stupid, we are a "threat" we don't make a difference, so if we die it is no big deal. So let's get the word out, and learn of the propoganda, learn the lies, and learn the truth. Your knowledge makes a difference. Use it.

Originally posted by abejnoodAs I recall, the moon was invaded in the late 1960s. Of course, there seem to be several people on RHP who evidently believe that was a hoax.

Well, you know what they say, Del: if you can remember invading the Moon in the 60s, you can't have been there.
For some reason, this thread reminds me of my favourite bit of Khomeini trivia, the SAVAK's comical use of cryptography that they used to describe his proposed flight from Iraq to Pakistan:
"The return of the Saltshaker to the Moon and his departure for Banana is not appropriate. It is best that he remain in the Candlestick."

Originally posted by AmauroteSo are you proposing that we should now invade Banana instead? Sounds like a good idea to me, but I don't know how we can justify it to the public now that we don't have Mr. Powell around.
