The fact is that America doesn't give a toss about Global Warming, they care more about how they will lose out than than how the world will benefit.

With all the emerging economies like India and China the demand for oil, coal and other CO2 producing fuels is increasing dramatically, the Kyote Protocol helps (pressurises) countries to develop renewable sources of fuel; whiich (hopefully) in the future will have prevented tragedies.

One other thing with America:
Heavily subsidising their farmers so they can sell their goods cheaply on African markets. This forces farmers in Africa to sell products even cheaper, meaning they remain poor.

That much America shares with Europe.
Not sure if there are any other candidates for agricultural villainy.

I'm sure the politicians in America can only see as far ahead as the next election.

But wasn't Zimbabwa an agricultural success until Mugabe came along and confiscated all the land of the farmers?

True on all points, but I am against subsidising farmers nowadays, subsidising was nessecary 50 years ago but not now. Furthermore, how come France is subsidised the most and then complains about the British rebate. Without it Britain would be putting several (7 or 8) times more into the european union than France, how selfish.

Zimbabwe was an agricultural success ("the breadbasket of Africa"😉, especially due to favourable trading partners in the UK (Sainsbury's and the like). The agricultural sector has indeed been ruined since the implementation of Comrade Mugabe's policies, and the country is showing every signs of rejoining the African Dark Ages (currently running in parallel with the African Renaissance).

The African countries (as far as I'm aware) that suffer most from the effects of subsidies are those that have not been enjoying good productivity for quite some time--they dipped below a certain level, and trade barriers are among the factors keeping them there.

Hey mate, been a while.

My post was supposed to be a bit tounge in cheek. Some of my favourite bands come from the USA, same with movies/shows. And im sure we are not forced to watch/listen to the shite. It is our choice.

Admittedly, i was just being a smart@rse! And i sincerely do apologise for Russel Crowe, Steve Irwin and John Howard.
I know you were just busting our collective "yank" balls....taken in stride. I do like Steve Irwin though....

Steve is pretty passionate, and when you have such extraordinary wildlife, flora and landscapes, it's hard not to be passionate about it.

yeah, but not to the point of potentially inadvertantly offering his son to the croc king....LOL...it was an honest-passionate mistake to be sure, but he should have admitted his f*&k-up....he still beats Marlin Perkins....

2. Will not sign up to Kyote Protocol
3. Is the world's largest consumer of oil by far
4. Misleading the world about Iraq so we invade because of 'weapons of mass destruction'
5. Threatening Iran with military action about nuclear power work
6. Sharing ...[text shortened]... ve the rest of the world.
Is that ignorant?

Is that selfish?

Share with me your thoughts.
After 3 days of (mostly) rubbish in this thread, it is amazing to this American how truly ignorant and illiterate Dab Flow and his cronies are. Dr. Bowmann, where are you when we need your caustic input. Are your countrymen exempt? 🙁

Of course not. We're spreading our vastly superior culture and values to the unwashed heathens all the time. How can that be selfish?

The fact is there's nothing factual about what benefit Kyoto is.

I would also like for you to explain what is wrong with the death penalty? Here in England it costs £22,000 of the tax payers money to keep criminals locked up for a year. What is the point in holding murderers, peodophiles and rapists in jail for life, where the cause more damage to the community by making us pay taxes to keep them alive. We don't need people like this in the world so why not get rid of them?
The death penalty a good idea under HM Justice system. Hmmm.

Don't think Guilford 4 or Birmingham 6 would agree with you somehow.
