I'm for killing people myself.

We have way to many and a lot of them deserve killing IMO.
I'd kill all pedophiles right after the trial on National TV.
Serial killers? .. kill 'em.
Murder for profit .. kill 'em
Serial rapists? .. yeah, kill 'em.
Multiple murderers? .. kill 'em.

2 guys get in a fight and one is beat to death .. 30yrs, no parole.
Drunk driver kills someone .. life in prison, no parole.

Marijuana possession .. let off with warning 😀

OK I'm all for making sure we don't have drunk drivers on the road but surely the first one is even if not worse than the second.

PS. Kill fetuses not murderers.

If a person is convicted of murder and sentenced to death.

Doesn't the act of killing the individual contradict the moral
ideology behind his/her conviction?
You believe all killing is murder than yes, if you see that there
are times where killing someone isn't muder than no.

You guys seem to be forgetting the main reason for executing
murderers. There are some killers who may have had extenuating
circumstances and there are others who will clearly kill again if
let loose or even let in a general prison population.
Those are executed for two reasons. One, punishment fits the crime,
but two, to stop him permenently from killing again. Chances are
high this kind of person will even kill prisoners.

no extenuating circumstances, except self-defense, in which case it's not counted as murder.

we don't need careerists hairsplitting criminals' childhood deprivations so as to give them a break. put them on an island or execute them. no recourse.

The moral ideology is that life is the most important thing known
to our society and that the taking of life (without consent) is in
no way acceptable.

The moral ideology is passed down to us from Moses and said to
be set in stone. 'Thou shalt not kill'.

My question to this regard is how can the rules of state contradict
and go against the laws of humanity?

Could Asimovs robots follow this law?

How many people have been put on death row, or here in Britain life imprisonment, only to be released at a later date, after having been found innocent?
I don't know the number but in Britain it's been quite a few. These people would all have been executed if there had been capital punishment.
As long as there is even the slightest risk that an innocent person could be executed, corporal punishment is not an option.
The legal system here has not shown that it can keep innocent people out of jail!

Draw you own conclusions from that

How exactly does the punishment fit the crime?

As far as I can see the state on one hand saying it is illegal and
immoral to kill and on the other it is saying it is OK to kill.

It's a case of the punishment IS the crime.

(interjection)

Arthur Koestler wrote a good book, Hanged by the Neck, on the history of capital punishment in the UK. Well worth investigating.

The moral ideology remains integral for the conviction but not for
the sentence of death.
How can state law contradict criminal law in such a fundamental way??

Where's the pro execution lobby? This is an interesting topic.
