Sure, I know this would only be a question in some regions, but:
Is it weird for the white guys in certain regions to have women and people who are not Euro-White running for and serving in public office?
Is there anything we could do to lessen your fears of post-colonial, post-slavery, post-man-hut reprisals?

Politics too (albeit slightly less so).
Never had a problem with it and generally, unless it comes up in a debate (which is sadly the case of late), I don’t even notice.

And as the old Depeche Mode song goes: "People are People".
Racial division is a tool of the ruling elite and only the "intellectually lazy" still get hammered by it.
@kevin-eleven saida very racist and stupid posit

@kevin-eleven saidBecause of the idiotic fishbowl we've made politics into, we've decreased the quality of the politicians. The system does everything to ruin those who do get into it, and to weed out the thoughtful ones who take nuanced positions.

Locally talented people would rather hold good jobs or run businesses than subject themselves to the idiocy of local politics unless they got into politics so early that they never knew anything else. And they get ruined quickly enough. Super-competent people on a national level would rather become high powered CEOs than subject themselves to the insanity of major political run.
So you have the major successful politicians being competent, but inferior to the leaders of industry. On the local level, you have basically the flotsam and those with poor judgment or who never knew anything better, running the local governments. It's sad, really.
I've known two successful local politicians. Both were competent young people who could have had solid careers and peaceful lives. They both got into the system, both got solid local positions at young ages and both had scandalous downfalls by about the age of 30, driven half-mad by the insanity of the system.
One managed to get control of his life and, though he lost his marriage and had to leave town, he seems to at least have turned his life around to the point that he seems to be a reasonably happy middle-aged person working a solid job and with a semi-normal life. The other couldn't handle his situation (and whatever else was going on in private) and took a header off a bridge one night.
I don't know what the solution is, but politics are impossible to deal with for most politicians in the social media age.
Race is a red herring. I generally don't feel much for successful politicians but pity, sometimes tinged with contempt.

Are they the super competent people who screwed the planet or the super competent people who give us a financial crash every ten years or so and need to be bailed out by the super incompetent politicians off the backs of 90% of tax payers?
Just so we know who we are talking about.

The company I just got a job at is incredibly diverse, as were the last two companies I worked for and it seems certain diversity equals increased developments of projects and the like.

Super-competent means really good at what you do, not that they are immune from self-interest or behave in ways that you would like.
@sh76 saidI think we can afford not letting super competent selfish sociopaths running our government. The selfish sociopaths in the Republican Party are bad enough without adding super competence to the mix.
Both.
