I think you'll need more than one edit before this post makes sense.

No offence, but I'm still not entirely sure what you are asking with the second bit. Most Marxists are pretty down on religion ("opiate of the people," don't you know).
Originally posted by DrKFNo offence felt. The second bit wasn't another question. I met a marxist she described what she beleived in and it sounded a lot like communisim to me, except for the exceptance of a faith. There must be other differences surelly or it'd be the same thing just more tollerant/less tolerant followers. So I looked Marxism up on the net and there's lots to read a little too much 😉 So I thouht I'd ask in here.

Originally posted by yo its meSo someone told you Marxism accepts faith/belief in God, something like that? I'd disagree.

As I said, most Marxists I have read and met are pretty anti-religion - I'd say a Marxist who believed in God was a pretty odd Marxist. Marx (and Marxists) pride themselves on their 'material' analysis, and reject religious explanations.
Communism, on the other hand, is pretty vague - it tends to mean that everyone in a group own all property between them, in common, with no one owning anything just themselves. There are plenty of religious groups that are, in essence, 'communist'.
So Marxists are communists - because they believe we should get rid of private property - but tend to be anti-religious as well.
Is that any help..?
Originally posted by DrKFYes thank you for taking the time. I must have miss understood her. She didn't directly say that marxists except religion, more tolorate maybe. I found some papers from writtings by K Marx saying that he wanted to be (allined is hte wrong word) with Darwin. Is that right?

Originally posted by yo its meWell, Marx wanted to dedicate Das Kapital to Darwin, and sent him a signed copy. Darwin politely declined the dedication.

Marx believed his methods to be *scientific*, so no doubt he liked to consider himself akin to Darwin - as an innovative, thoroughly modern thinker.
