Why did the judge reject Trump's offer to supply his DNA in order to prove his innocence?

Lawyers for Trump and Carroll had more than three years to make DNA an issue in the case and both chose not to do so. After refusing to provide a DNA sample earlier in the investigation, Trump’s lawyers switched tactics, saying they would provide one if Carroll’s lawyers turned over the full DNA report on the dress. This was just another delay tactic by Trump and Co. Your cherry picking of facts is duly noted.

If things go Trump's way, then justice was done, if not, it's all a deep state Liberal conspiracy - right? 😴

There could be many reasons. One might be that no DNA was recovered from the alleged victim. Another might be that a sexual offense can be committed without leaving any body fluids behind, so a DNA test would not establish innocence. Another might be that ... oh never mind, Mchill answered already.

The judge denied an eleventh-hour bid by the former president's lawyers to possibly make his DNA an issue in the case.

Carroll’s lawyers first asked Trump to turn over a sample of his DNA in January 2020 to see whether his genetic material was on a dress she said she wore during the alleged encounter.

Trump's attorneys repeatedly rejected the requests, arguing in court filings that Carroll had "not demonstrated a reasonable basis for such an intrusive request."

"Further, the request is highly prejudicial given chain of custody concerns and violates defendant’s privacy rights, which are especially sensitive given that he is a former president," Trump lawyer Alina Habba contended last year.

Trump's lawyers *repeatedly* rejected attempts to use his DNA. When his attorneys asked to submit DNA three years later, the judge said the timeline to submit new evidence into court had passed.

Trump's lawyers aren't stupid. They know what their deadlines are to submit evidence for a hearing. This is a political stunt to get dumbass Trump supporters to believe in conspiracies.

DNA was recovered on her dress.
On appeal it will be thrown out.

As Vivify has pointed out, Trump's legal team had ample time to present evidence. Trump's attempt to prevaricate and stall the process by refusing to cooperate has worked against him, and now that he's looking down the barrel of a conviction, he wants to move the goal posts, again. Sooner or later, Trump will learn that the law does not dance to his tune.

No dummy it’s rapey trumps DNA on the dress that’s why his lawyers kept refusing to supply DNA until they knew it was too late. How stupid are you people.

How do you rape someone in a dressing room, anyway? In a fancy uptown department store? Without making any noise? Then walk away like nothing happened, assuming she won't tell ?
Her story is ridiculous.

It was a 3 year court case and they asked for this change at the end with the intention of stalling the proceedings and sowing your doubt about prejudice. It's a fanciful argument, for sure.

I’m guessing you’ve never been to a fancy uptown dressing room. Hint it’s not a 2 by 2 metal frame with a curtain around it 🙄
