@Suzianne saidnot emails under congressional subpoena
Do you delete emails?
I know I do.
I'm not keeping gigabytes of yesterday's news on my computer.
And neither did Colin Powell or Condoleezza Rice.
But you seem okay with them keeping private servers.
PS…you are looking stupid trying to defend clinton
@no1marauder saidThe information is already out there. Are you suggesting putting the crap back into the horse? God that is stupid. Do you think I will forget what was released?
"As a condition of his plea, he will be required to destroy classified information provided to WikiLeaks."

Not exactly "heroic".
I agree with the NY Times article that calls this a "chilling precedent".
@no1marauder saidYou must be an expert in putting the crap back in the horse. The information is out and it will stay out. It makes no sense.

@no1marauder saidSo he would get all those years in prison back? Get real.
I think he would have been well advised to fight the charges in Federal Court.
I can't think of any journalist successfully prosecuted under the Espionage Act for merely reporting what whistle blowers told them or for publicizing documents given to them by others. Even if convicted, he would have had a good chance of success appealing on First Amendment grounds. See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_Times_Co._v._United_States
@Metal-Brain saidMoron, this refers to information Wikileaks might receive in the future.

Gawd, you're an obnoxious, simple minded clown.
@Metal-Brain saidNo, idiot, he should have fought the charges in court when the Trump DOJ first indicted him. Instead, his legal strategy to waste 5 years in a fruitless battle against extradition led to a long incarceration.
So he would get all those years in prison back? Get real.
@no1marauder saidDo you think he has nine lives?

Trump and his evil CIA man Pompeo wanted him dead.......idiot!
What you are suggesting amounts to suicide. He probably still fears for his life. Being let free may seem a little too easy for comfort to Assange.
@no1marauder saidWhy didn't you just say that?
Moron, this refers to information Wikileaks might receive in the future.
Gawd, you're an obnoxious, simple minded clown.
You are the moron.
He would probably do that voluntarily after all he has been through, don't ya think? God you are stupid!
@Metal-Brain saidBelieving in nutty conspiracy theories has real life consequences to some people, if not to morons like yourself.

@Metal-Brain saidThen he might as well shut down Wikileaks, don't you think?

Unless all he wants it for now is as an arm of the Russian military propaganda machine which is, unfortunately, what he decided to use it for in 2016. Getting information that was classified but of great importance to the People was the raison d'etre of Wikileaks, which he has now promised to forego.
@no1marauder saidWhat conspiracy theory?
Believing in nutty conspiracy theories has real life consequences to some people, if not to morons like yourself.
@no1marauder saidYou were obviously projecting. You are putting forth conspiracy theories, not me.

Julian Assange is an Australian citizen, who owes no loyalty to the American legal system. America has no right to charge a non-citizen journalist with treason because he published the truth.
America wanted him so they could hide him in Guanatamo Bay and/or kill him.
America's much-vaunted right to free speech went down the tubes in a big way.
And then Americans wonder why their allies, not just Australia but all the other supposed "friends", don't trust them.
@Kewpie saidAssange wasn't charged with "treason" and his citizenship is irrelevant to the charges he was accused of.

He's a journalist, not what all your media made him out to be. Your First Amendment should have applied to information released in the public interest. That information should have been released.
All he did "wrong" is fail to redact identification details. Oh, and not be a US citizen.
Might does not make right, you know.
