Here is the link, looks like at least some gay people are born that
way after all:

I'm sure the religious right will tear into that one tooth and nail.

Not being of the religious 'right' (or 'left'😉 I am not surprised by your revelation. After all there is usually a heredity or genetic connection which predisposes people to many other physical and mental diseases.

I am not going to defend homosexuality but it appears to me that you are the religious right calling it a mental disease and I am supprised that there has not been many replies calling for your head.
Oh well I'm sure No1marauder will be along soon.

I am a bit surprised about the lack of replies, too, but maybe we just all got tired of this discussion. It's hard to have a meaningful discussion with people who call any deviation from their norm a "mental disease".

An excuse to do what they want to do, that is all this is.

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean its an rationalization for them,
gay people, to do what they want to do anyway?

Today's theories can be revised or detroyed by tomorrow's discoveries. Whenever hypotheses and conclusions cannot be verified, science degenerates into the realm of speculation. Scientific conclusions are no more valid than their premises.

Pretty interesting data, though, for those who think that gay folk chose to be gay.

Sensationalism. Isn't it interesting how many times "possible" and "could" appear in that article. The gay-gene remains elusive.

Yes, science is such a lot down with its perpetual self-criticism. Much better is religious faith which replaces those pesky possible's and could's with certainly's and [i]does[i]'s.

How would you account for the actual data? Suppose these researchers are correct. What would the effect be on your views concerning homosexuals?

Don't confuse him with facts, his mind is made up. So that obviously
settles the question. He doesn't believe it, therefore the entire
concept is clearly invalid.

No. The study may be an indication that there is a genetic predisposition toward such behavior in at least some cases. It's an interesting study.

Maybe there is a gene out there that gives you an 'excuse' for your obvious disdain for any type of objective thought.

Yeah....It would be easier to simply invent supernatural beings so that they may dictate all the 'answers' to us merely through fiat. That way, we can speculate to our hearts desire, without the need to actually examine or seek any evidence first.
