And a Republican, like that "no-good" GWB.

I didn't say The One's politics were fascist; in fact, he's quite the opposite -- at heart he's a socialist. But did I say he was Hitler-like because like the almost-anti-Christ, The One is also very charismatic and has undeniable oratory gifts that could used for evil. Also, last night's apotheosis borrowed heavily from fascism's penchent for th ...[text shortened]... mortgage, get you a good union job and send your children to a good college. Hoo haw!
Was Reagan - The Great Communicator - similarly Hitler-like?

No, and he never used Gnostic hand gestures to hypnotize the crowds.

No? Why not? Lots of starry eyed supporters when he spoke, weren't there?

Gnostic hand gestures to hypnotise the crowd? You're just being ridiculous, now.

Jealous?

You know the closest thing to Reagan the Dems had was Clinton. However, now it appears they have turned on him.

Of that dunce?

Hell no. The myth that surrounds the guy is stratospherically inflated beyond the reality.

Show a little respect. Sure you may not agree with his political ideology but you have to conceed that he was far successful politically than any modern day politician that I know of. This success occurred before, during, and after his presidency. How many ex-politicians can say that?

Granted, popularity does not make you right or good, but it usually is fleeting if it is unsubstantiated.

Edit: Yep, they are all insanly jealous.

Obama said, "It isn't that McCain does not care, it is that he simply does not get it."

So what is he saying here? Is he saying that McCain is not that bright?
No, he's using the "Out of touch" with ordinary Americans angle..

As long as you conceed and are willing to respect the success of Bill Clinton. He is still as-loved as Reagan (tens of millions). Just by completely different (very large) sets of people that don't overlap.

Yes, but the crowing of adherents does not necessarily bestow legitimacy, does it?

I just finished watching The One's presidential acceptance speech in Denver. I've got to give him his due -- The One is very charismatic. In fact, his speech was almost Hitlerian with all the talk about shared sacrifice and one people and one nation and the wolk, the wolk. Although it was short on substance, my favorite part was when The One said ...[text shortened]... always been about you." All I could think was: Bravisimo! I wish I had come up with that.
You think Hitler achieved what he did through waving his arms about and/or being charismatic?

You use one of the worst periods in human history to your own ends in this post. It borders on disgusting. I expect propaganda from you but not such a lack of morals.

so he's playing the class-struggle card.

DSR is all about propaganda.
Six of the last 8 years the conservatives have lead this country and look where they took the US.
Of course if it had been liberals he would be pointing to all the failings.

"...stratospherically inflated beyond reality." That's a brilliant description of The One, you ought to copyright it.

I hate to see you out in the cold, if you pm me I've got a young director who reckons she can channel Leni's insight, so if you want a better show I can pass on her number.

She wants to call it Triumph of the Dill.

EDIT: Call her in the next couple of days cos she has to work out how many extractor fans she'll need at your upcoming convention to expell the smell of defeat from the room.
