The New York Post was founded in 1804 by Alexander Hamilton and is one of the oldest newspapers in the U.S. In the 19th Century, under the editorship of William Cullen Bryant, it was famous for his editorial urging the City fathers to set aside land for a “Central Park”. In the 20th Century, under the ownership of Dorothy Schiff and the editor James Wechsler, it was a staunch defender of civil liberties against the assaults of Senator Joseph R. McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee. Throughout this history, it maintained a strong barrier between the News bureau and the Editorial page. It was even famous for its sports coverage, featuring the columnist Jimmy Cannon. Its columnists and editors in the mid- and late-20th Century included William Shannon, Max Lerner, Murray Kempton, Earl Wilson, and the recently-lamented Pete Hamill.

This building is of cultural and historical importance to the city and its Irish American population in particular. Which Doyle as an insider of that group knew when he made the loan / investment.

Not only did he use donors, he donated 10 million when he started his campaign the first time and when he had bamboozled millions of poor folks giving him five and ten bucks apiece, he paid himself back that ten mil out of the RNC coffers he previously donated to.
Now we find he doesn't even own half the so called iconic buildings having his name on them like Trump Tower and the like and what he does own is mortgaged to the hilt so he has little in the way of collateral to be able to draw from if he added more loans, in short he is not and never was a billionaire, just artificially puffing up his own worth, lying through his teeth from day one, totally steeped in fraud for decades and you undoubtedly still think he is the greatest since Jesus.
