Blood sausage and head cheese rank up there too. Guns are handy though. If a rapist attacks a woman armed with a pistol, she just points and applies very little presure to the trigger. She can defend herself against someone much larger and stronger than she is. If she hits a nerve center he will drop immediately. At the very least he will leak out quickly. If the rapist has a gun then he likely got it illegally but she still has a fighting chance. The government thinks they are handy for them as they order lots of em. Hell, even the IRS is getting gun happy. If they weren't handy, tyrants would not have taken them from the common folk before they made their move. You ought to get a Sako and go moose hunting there in Finland. Moose is very good meat.
