@metal-brain saidRemote robots have cameras they can see just fine.
That depends. Do you know he is not holding hostages? If you cannot see him, how can you know he does not have a hostage? If you can see him why cannot you have a sniper shoot him?
@jj-adams saidIt isn't that simple. The suspect will shoot the robot. Even if you see a hostage what happens when the robot is shot at and a bullet bounces off and into the hostage?

Robots should be a last resort kind of thing where you call the governor for permission. We all saw how tasers were abused because the police had a new toy they were eager to play with.
@metal-brain saidI would think the robots would be armored shooting them does no good.

Also you are making up a lot of "what if" scenarios that are all slanted in one way for your argument.
There are plenty of other situations where they would be just fine.
@jj-adams saidEven if you see a hostage what happens when the robot is shot at and a bullet bounces off and into the hostage? I am repeating myself you know. Take your time reading next time.

@metal-brain saidLike I said, you are making up a lot of what-if worst-case scenarios.

What if they know he's all alone?
What if he's shooting people from a high vantage point and a barricaded position and must be stopped?
What if what if what if.............. you can make up what-ifs all day long one way or another.
It's not a perfect world.
@jj-adams saidThat is because worst case scenarios happen after enough time. Is there something about getting authorization from the governor that you have a problem with?

@metal-brain saidThat's a new monkey wrench, why are you throwing that in?
That is because worst case scenarios happen after enough time. Is there something about getting authorization from the governor that you have a problem with?
No, I don't have a problem with getting the governor's OK, where did you come up with that idea?
You are projecting your what-if stuff on me now.
@metal-brain saidHaha what if the Cyclons freak out and try to kill their human masters and the survivors have to go looking for another planet to live on and then the Cyclons go looking for them

@jj-adams saidGreat. We agree about something. Authorization from the governor should be required.
That's a new monkey wrench, why are you throwing that in?
