there was a quote in the MAN WHO SHOT LIBERTY VALANCE between the truth and legend print the legend think it was taken from some where else but still true today, with todays heros being given the same treatment in tomorows legends.

If what you are saying is you want it to be true because the story appeals to your sense of how things should have been, you are on dangerous grounds. Not for King Athur - he is too far back to matter. But when you believe a story because you want it to be true rather than on the basis of evidence, you are ideal materail for someone's propaganda.
