It reduces cloud cover which allows more heat from the sun to penetrate. So we are sowing our own destruction.

And that is on TOP of all the CO2 from burning fossil fuels. And the methane released by melting tundra.

Our great grandkids are going to pay the price for our avarice.

Who exactly is doing the deforestation? In case you forgot the greediest, and most wasteful people on the planet are North Americans and Europeans. Maybe you should start by fixing your own house.

The biggest one right now is in the Amazon. they are wholesale stripping the forest there and putting in farms and towns, I mean literally millions of acres, not a couple hundred acres.

Remember in the days of the wild wild west when Americans were cutting down large areas of forest, killing thousands of bison [and indians] for their skins, and just plain doing whatever they want? Well its the Brazilians turn. Just shut up and leave the people instead of promoting that fake global warming agenda.

That is for fuuking sure, in the 1700's we knocked down millions of acres ourselves. Not exactly a hidden tale. But we are talking about century 21 now not hundreds of years ago. Right now our biggest threat here is paving some 5000 square miles a year come hell or high water. That still doesn't change the huge amount of clear cutting going on in the Amazon right now. 300,000 square miles lost, 20% of ALL the forest there. That HAS to effect climate for several reasons.

All that is hypocritical nonsense. Go preach to your own people and tell them your childish lies. Your society are still guilty of damaging the environment right now in these times. Instead of fixing your mess you are complaining about other countries. Here is some of what you [and advanced countries] do
- consume [and waste] more than your fair share of energy per capita
- waste a ton load of edible food
- kill surplus animals so that prices remain high
- burn unnecessary fuel engaging in petty shallow activities

Fix your wastage then complain about others.

I just read a science article not doing blame game. I already said we clear cut a lot of trees but that was centuries ago and we don't do it wholesale any more which is not to say we are doing no clear cutting.
Here is a world wide deforestation list:

https://ourworldindata.org/deforestation
Brazil is WAY up the list and the US is almost neutral or very low compared to others. You just assume the US will always be at fault because you have a hard on against the US.

Interesting how you are ignoring your lack of action in the following areas where the US is guilty:
- consume [and waste] more than your fair share of energy per capita
- waste a ton load of edible food
- kill surplus animals so that prices remain high
- burn unnecessary fuel engaging in petty shallow activities

You mean a century before the world knew an ozone layer even existed? A century before global warming was discovered? A whole century before TV was invented?

That's your defense for cutting down a vital ecosystem in an age where advanced science far better understands the repercussions?

Ignoring?

The amount of threads spent criticizing the exact issues you mentioned are endless, especially since Trump was elected and right-wingers enacted drastic measures to stop climate change initiatives.

You're somewhat of a newcomer in Debates, relatively speaking. The topics you mentioned have been discussed to death.

Yeah right. Thats why sonhouse cannot respond and say what the USA is doing about their own wasetful habits, their excessive consumption of energy etc etc, and their dumping of food, killing of animals without reason. He was silent. You know why ? There is no excuse. Fix your own house before condemning the world especially when many people in those countries are dirt poor.

I can make it simple for you: right-wingers value corporate profits over the environment.

Republicans laugh at climate scientists and think decades of data from the most educated scientists all around the world is a hoax. This includes right wingers like Mott, Metalbrain, Wajoma, and all the Republicans in Congress either blocking change initiatives (like Trump putting gag order on EPA) or reversing them.

This has all been discussed in detail with criticism of the U.S. government and wasteful Americans. Anyone who's been around Debates for at least 2 years has seen endless threads about this.

Didn’t you say you lived in Florida or at least now?
