Leftists move to move Masters out of Georgia

Debates

The Augusta golf course is owned by private citizens. Like, a private citizen owns a hardware store. It is their business how they run it. Conservatives such as myself do not get the mindset of an organized group trying to impose its will on such enterprises because they do not like the way they think or do business. If I have a banana stand, and do not like Germans because they tortured my grandfather in 1943, would the leftists shut down my stand because I don't like Germans? After all, Germans are a race as are the blacks who see discrimination everywhere, prompting the Masters golf shutdown. What is the difference? Do these scenarios sound logical?
The leftists have nothing to do with the Augusta golf course. Or, do they?

@AverageJoe1
So for you, all the voter suppression laws just enacted by Georgia repubs is the way the entire US should be run, right? So you figure its ok to deny folks the ability to even pass on drinks or snacks to voters standing in line?
You see a MAJOR fukup in our democracy and all you can see is some 'lefties' taking a golf tourney out of state.

It figures.

Not voter suppression laws, it's voter legitimacy laws.
And preventing people from giving food and drinks to people to buy their votes was the intention of the law.

Steady joe your rambling again this has nothing to do with your German analogy unless your claiming that black voters tortured your grandpappy on their way to the polling station.

@Dood111
Well mr whitey, why don't YOU go to Georgia to vote in those long lines and reduced times to vote and see that doesn't happen in whitey areas and tell me again why that isn't voter repression.
And tell me again why it was FINE to give people water in a long line on a hot day but NOW because the fukking repubs LOST their senators NOW it is FUKKING FELONY?

The rules apply to us WHITEYS too so what's the problem?

@Dood111
You really are stupid. It is designed to stop BLACKS and Browns from voting and all your mewling puking will not change that fact JACK.
But it goes with the territory, you are white and will NEVER understand the plight of black folks in the US.
There was ZERO problems in Georgia for hundreds of years but now that repubs lost the only way they can win now is CHEATING and that is EXACTLY what the voter repression laws are in Georgia.

Tell me again why it should be a FELONY to give folks water in the vote line.

People will wail about the discrimination that Japanese Americans went thru in America during WWII. But so did German Americans.

I would love to know if the idjuts trying to move Augusta out A.) have jobs, B.) get a stipend from George Soros or BLM.

Tell us that it is fine that a person to vote without an ID. You can do it, Sonhouse. But don't deter from the exact way that I worded this sentence. Like Kev and everyone do,, who actually change the names or the protagonists of an analogy.

They have the legal right to host the Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta for as long as they and the PGA are in agreement.

You and your commie snakes haven't even taken over the country yet and you talk like you own everybody.

Earl of Trumps is again extremely dishonest or misleading about history.
There were major differences between the internments of ethnic Japanese and Germans.

1) Japanese Americans were interned on a much bigger scale and as a much higher proportion of their population.
2) MOST of the interned Japanese Americans were *US citizens*, despite the
US racist laws that banned ALL East Asian immigrants from naturalization.
In contrast, the USA interned German *resident aliens*, who were not US citizens,
with the exceptions of some German Americans suspected of being pro-Nazi.

I would add that there was a major pro-Nazi German American group in the USA.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_American_Bund

"The German American Bund, or German American Federation ... was a German-American
Nazi organization established in 1936 to succeed Friends of New Germany (FoNG),
the new name being chosen to emphasize the group's American credentials after
press criticism that the organization was unpatriotic.[4] The Bund was to consist
only of American citizens of German descent.[5] Its main goal was to promote a
favorable view of Nazi Germany."

Was there any support among Japanese Americans for Japan's imperialist aggression?
Yes, BEFORE Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Many Japanese Americans (particularly Issei)
supported Japan's invasion of China, and some contributed money to Japan's war effort.
A few Japanese Americans might even have volunteered to fight for Japan against China.
This (partial) Japanese American support for Japan's war on China provoked much
friction between ethnic Chinese and ethnic Japanese in the USA. That friction
tends to be glossed over by modern Asian American activists.

Even the US government (belatedly) officially apologized for its wartime internment of Japanese Americans.
But there are many racist Americans (I met a white teacher who was one of them)
who still believe that the USA was justified in herding Japanese Americans into camps.
I suspect that they may urge that the USA do the same to Chinese Americans in the future.

The USA's wartime internment of Japanese Americans was motivated by racism.
Its (much smaller) wartime internment of German resident aliens and some
suspected pro-Nazi German Americans was NOT motivated by racism.
