@wildgrass saidYou are really sinking here.
Kids are negatively affected walking into ANY bedroom scenario. That's what locks are for.
I am talking about what you are talking about...Divorces, which are likely to happen more often when a spouse lays with the neighbor and kids happen upon it. Your answer, whatever it means, does not negate or dilute the point of my issue.
You apparently feign ignorance of my point. I yield the rest of my time.
@athousandyoung saidNot me.....I don't smirk. I see him as a president, like you had Clinton. You know, my doctor does the same thing, the SOB treats his wife horribly and takes his mistress to Paris on occasion.
Trump gets divorced and cheats on his wives but when he does it the Right just smirks and says it’s because he’s an alpha male
But you see, he is a great doctor. His personal life has nothing to do with his ability to replace my lungs next week.
You guys are an easy mark.
@wildgrass saidFor me to 'identify a solution' would be to say that a solution would be for all married couples to stay together, esp in cultures of questionable morals and virtues, and remain true to their marriage vows.
The crisis of divorce was not caused by the sexual revolution. I won't lecture you. You can look this up.
But extremely high divorce rates does require a reevaluation of what marriage means. Whatever works to reverse the divorce trend.
Instead of laying scurrilous blame on the libs for everything, how about identifying a solution?
That would do it. I don't blame libs for everything, who does.

@averagejoe1 saidYet you blame this specific problem on libs, ignoring the fact that divorce rates are higher in conservative social groups? Check your link.

Government subsidizes marriage through the tax code. As such it's been abused. One potential solution would require those seeking tax benefits through marriage to agree to more stringent guidelines. To those seeking divorce over 'irreconciliable differences" (whatever that means) to provide more concrete evidence that reconciliation was attempted. To those eventually divorcing, it should be required they pay back the government for lying under oath about the ".. until death" part of their vows. These are potential solutions. Breitbart doesn't care about solutions, obviously.
50% divorce rates among conservatives and you're wondering why the younguns don't want traditional marriage anymore. Delusion.
@wildgrass saidInteresting claim. Where did you read that?

@averagejoe1 saidWhat are these idiots getting married for? Did they intend to be monogamous and later decided it was boring and wanted some strange? Why not just stay single?

51% of our young people favor open marriages. Lay with your neighbor's spouse.
Every day is new news about what you libs are doing. Now you have created an approval of open marriages. Every day is something. Sickening. Soon you will renounce the bible. To hell with Judeo Christ ...[text shortened]... rriage? I say not. An open marriage is a not-marriage. Let us have their kids define it.
Jesus.

@jj-adams saidJoe's link showed higher divorce rates on average in red-voting states, a measure of conservatism. Several studies have also seen this, and attribute the correlation to lower income levels of conservative protestants and a culture that encourages marriage earlier in life. Also there is a correlation with marriage rates too, so take it for what it is. I can dig up the data if you're truly interested.

What I wrote was an oversimplified comment for sure. It's complicated. But it is also true, and was made to specifically counterpoint Joe's absurd premise that this is a Libbie-driven problem.
@wildgrass saidYou ignore the issue? I have not been talking about divorce per se, I am saying that the promiscuity which liberals are introducing, one step at a time, even the drag stuff, all of it, is ruining the morals of our country. This particular one used to be known as wife-swapping. Now it seems to be becoming pervasive. It will ruin families, divorce or not. It's all OK with you, though. Everything is. Neither of you take exception with any of your so-called progressive movements.

Have you seen your border 'progress' today? Thanks a lot from all your RHP friends. Next I will get a challenge from Jose'. I will decline.

@averagejoe1 saidMy broader argument was that, other than death, divorce is the ultimate ruiner of families. It's also the part that affects the rest of us. What folks do behind closed doors is their beeswax, not yours. It certainly doesn't affect you.

Divorce? Now we got childhood depression and latch key kids and higher rates of obesity and poverty and drug abuse. Open marriages don't have that same effect.
