Why did the crowd chant "lock her up" at Trump events? Lock her up for what? Is it an unspecified call for her imprisonment or did they have a specific reason?

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/521436-trump-says-he-agrees-100-percent-with-lock-her-up-chants-about/

Since Trump said he agreed did he have a specific reason for pretending to want to lock her up? Trump did not try to lock her up.

He was the hypercritical scumbag that started the chant but although the boot is on the other foot you won’t hear Biden chanting ‘Lock him up’ it’s exclusively a GOP thing.

He didn't start the chant in the beginning. The crowd did, right? Trump just said he agreed with it even though he never tried to lock her up after he won the election. He never meant it. It was just good political theater.

Was there ever a specific reason for the chants saying lock her up? I cannot find one. I am guessing it is just a general disdain for her. Any reason would do, just like democrats regarding Trump. Just lock him up. Find a reason.

No trump coined the phrase and used it himself and the MAGA crowd would simply fall into the pig ignorant chant with Trump conducting his orchestra of the great unwashed.

The very first time? I don't think that is the case. Trump said he agreed with the crowd, not the other way around.

I believe the very first time the crowd led Trump, not the other way around. After that he probably led the crowd since he remembered how well it went over the first time.

Unlike Hillary (remember what James Comey said?), there are plenty of reasons to jail Trump.

By what standard? Most people killed by him compared to her? Words spoken? Foreign policy? Domestic policy? Who is more or less orange? Whose hair looks the most stupid?

Do you have a specific reason?

No it was trump who initially called for the imprisonment of his political rival, Biden has not done that but trump and his droogies are squealing like stuck pigs because the laws of the land keep catching up with the biggest scumbag that has ever lived in the White House, and that’s no small feat.

According to the historians Trump is actually only the 4th worst President ever. Hard to imagine how, isn't it?

I honestly cannot imagine who that might be, I can imagine some nominating Nixon but I do not think he did anything like the damage to the USAs body politic, if anything he United most Americans in rejecting his narcissistic approach to being POTUS

I think "hypercritical" is spot on. He criticizes everything.

He's also hypocritical, but that is another conversation. I think he's both. Easily.

So you agree he is a populist fool, unable to be a true leader?

So three worse than him. Hmmmmm.

Let's give it a try.

1. Benjamin Harrison. The guy caught a flu at his inauguration. He was dead a month later. Hard to be worse than that.

2. Herbert Hoover. The guy caused the Great Depression through easing or abolishment of most banking regulations. Hard to be worse than that too.

3. Andrew Johnson. The only president to be impeached until Bill Clinton. He saw no need to provide protections for the newly freed previously enslaved black people in the South after the Civil War, and his Reconstruction was a disaster. He allowed many of the leaders in southern states to come back to their former jobs and as a result, many states passed the 'Black Codes'. These were laws which governed the conduct of African Americans (both free and freedmen) in order to restrict African Americans' freedom, and in order to compel them to work for either low or no wages. They would see no relief from this until the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
