A new report suggests taking cannabis stops covid from infecting humans.

Now, this is probably in the same category as horse-medicine and bleach, BUT IT REALLY WORKS!

The reason I’m promoting this theory on this forum, is that I think anti-vaxxers will be a lot more acceptable as human beings when they’re stoned out of their minds.

I am already stoned. Have been for years.
Is that why I am still alive and healthy?

Pretty sure they are already out of their minds but I agree with your theory.
I’ve never caught covid on a Saturday night, or is it a combination of beer and green 🤔

Actually this paper:

https://doi.org/10.18632/aging.202500

finds that there is hope that some Cannabis extracts dampen the so-called cytokine storm, which is one of the problems that can lead to the death of the person...While that is good news, it is far from "stops infection"

Your original link didn't have that one:

It seems that some extarcts of Cannabis actually hinder the Virus to enter cells. This has only been tested in model cells, but is highly interesting.

Oh and it is an extract, so not the smoke.

Anything that has a negative effect on the lungs likely is not good for covid.

God damn. You just keep oozing wisdom.
What sort of negative effect does cannabis have on the lungs?

Cannabis eh? So, you know, THC... you can bake into cookies, melt into wine gums... just tell us, oh oracle of wisdom, exactly what the hell do you think you're blabbering on about?

@shavixmir

When covid started scientists noticed that smokers (cigarettes) were getting covid far less than non smokers.

The theory is the constant damage to the lungs means constant repair by the body and it fights off covid...or something like that.
Or it's the nicotine...

I'll go find a link...

WebMD

One hypothesis is that nicotine, which has anti-inflammatory properties, may interfere with the way that COVID-19 causes an overreaction of the immune system.

The hypothesis comes from Konstantinos Farsalinos, a cardiologist in Greece who focuses on tobacco-use reduction. Farsalinos noticed that few COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized in China were smokers, though about half of men in the country smoke.

Farsalinos and colleagues wrote a new paper available as a preprint and scheduled to be published in Internal and Emergency Medicine. They found that among 13 studies in China with nearly 6,000 hospitalized COVID-19 patients, the rate of smokers ranged from 1.4% to 12.6%. No studies recorded e-cigarette use.

“The results were remarkably consistent across all studies and were recently verified in the first case series of COVID-19 cases in the U.S.,” the authors wrote, calling for an “urgent investigation.”
