Why?
Why are you so afraid to say farmers? 😂

There are 10,000 US farmers who have received checks from the US government every year for 40 years straight.

Half of all farm subsidy money goes to individuals who make more than $150k a year.

These arent the kinds of payouts that benefit taxpayers. Maybe that's why Republicans love them.

Sounds like you got a serious case of hypocrisy going on there. In America, trophy hunting is a very big business, with over 15,000,000 hunters generating hunderds of millions in revenue.

The only issue I have with that is ensuring that the population of animals are not affected.

In South Africa and Zimbawe, two dirt poor countries, the people are entitled to sell ri ...[text shortened]... s that populations are not affected, and the money is used wisely... just like you all do in the US.
So because money is made killing animals for entertainment is just fine.

In the US money is made killing animals for entertainment. The opening post appears to condemn South African game hunting when the same thing happens in the US. In fact all over the world game hunting is allowed if the animal stock is maintained. Game hunting brings in revenue to some poor African countries. So the short answer to your question is 'yes'. Why do you ask?

Because it is FKING WRONG to just kill for entertainment. I saw one video of a dude in a helicopter and a 50 MM machine gun killing an entire herd of elephants for fun. Why would it EVER NOT be morally repugnant to kill animals for fun? They are conscious and alive with families just like us and to kill a parent means to kill a pup.
But do those bastards take THAT into account. HELL no, just here is my 35grand, lead me to a tiger. A thousand generations ago they didn't kill for sport they killed to feed their family or tribe. It would never have occurred to them to just kill a bear or deer for FUN.
That is a modern sickness and I don't give a rats ass how many billions are made from such inhumanity it is morally ethically and any other spec you want to put on it WRONG.

Get a grip. Have you ever caught butterfles and put them in a jar for fun as a kid? Have your kids done it? I bet they have and you did not care. What about fish, ladybugs, frogs etc. Kids kill these little animals for fun. Its no big deal.

South Africa alone makes about $2.5 Billion US, in game fees for hunters. That is a hell of a lot of money. So keep your opinion to yourself. Try to get the US to stop game hunting, and mind your business.

This guy killed a lion in Zimbabwe then tried to blame the hunters for not having permits.

US dentist Walter Palmer 'regrets' killing Zimbabwe lion Cecil

A US dentist who killed a lion in Zimbabwe says he regrets shooting the well-known animal and insists that he thought he was on a legal hunt.

Police in Zimbabwe have arrested two people over the death of Cecil, the country's most famous lion, and say Mr Palmer may also face poaching charges.

But Mr Palmer, from Minnesota, said he relied on professional guides to find a lion and obtain the necessary permits.

He also said he only found out the lion's identity at the end of the hunt.

The American tourist, who is believed to have paid about $50,000 (£32,000) to go on the hunt, is said to have shot the animal with a crossbow and rifle.

It was later skinned and beheaded, according to the Zimbabwe Conservation Task Force (ZCTF), a local charity.

Two Zimbabwean men - a professional hunter and a farm owner - have been charged with poaching offences because the group did not have a hunting permit.

They could face up to 15 years in prison in Zimbabwe if they are found guilty. They are due to appear in court on Wednesday.

There are about 2,000,000 farms in the USA. So 10,000 of them receive some kind of subsidy. I dont think this is as extreme as you think. All countries subsidize agriculture and farming because it is a critical industry, and having to rely on imports is a no-no.

Read the cato article. In the US it is well known to be bloated and wasteful. And we just increased the budget again by a lot with no rationale.

At the same time, medical research was gutted to save money.

50 people on the Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans received farm subsidies between 1995 and 2014. How is that supporting a critical industry and a good use of tax money? No one's even making the argument in favor of it. This guy was using hus handout for a safari.

Actually no I never put a butterfly or any other bug in a jar to see them die.
The most I ever did was to make an ant farm which showed them living and I was fascinated as a ten year old watching them work making tunnels and such.
I guess I was just a freak.
