Right. And therefore the Twitteratti have determined that shutting down life as usual is unrealistic and so other, less invasive measures ("education" is a big one) must be used instead.

How these people have learned to accept their own dissonance, as kind of an revolutionary characteristic for staying politically correct on social media, is impressive.

Do you think this monkeypox scare will turn out like the swine flu scare?
Monkeypox is not supposed to be very contagious unless it mutated into a more contagious strain. Or was made more contagious in a lab.

How do you think this will turn out? Is it a dud scare like swine flu was?

I have absolutely no idea. Most experts thinks the smallpox vaccine should work against monkeypox, so it's hard to see how this can be a long term threat, but who knows?

But whatever happens, I am reasonably certain that closing schools and masking toddlers will not be the solution.

“Disproptionally affecting gay men…” is the term used.
There are about 80 reported cases. If more than 10 of them are in gay men, then that’s already disproprtionate.

However, gay men are more likely than heterosexual men to go get checked up if something is amiss.

Considering this is the first time monkeypox has seemingly spread without a direct connection to parts of Africa and that it’s hard to transmit, there is a high chance there’s been a central event that’s caused the spread. Something like a concert or something.

So, stop spreading your anti-gay BS. And wait for some proper research to be done.

There have been vaccines for this for a while now because it’s been sporadically appearing in parts of Africa, the one that seems to be appearing more than usual outside of Africa is the west African variant.

I would think it would affect republican Americans more than any other group. I mean, they’re, evolutionary speaking, far closer to monkeys than the rest of us.
