@earl-of-trumps saidRight. And therefore the Twitteratti have determined that shutting down life as usual is unrealistic and so other, less invasive measures ("education" is a big one) must be used instead.
I read this morning that England and the US have determined that several of the victims are gay men
@sh76 saidlol, well, education won't do a damm thing. look at AIDS. But before we get carried away on this

The answer isn't shut down all these parties, tell gay men to stop having sex at them or dancing in close proximity to each other. It won't work. It hasn't worked for HIV or other kinds of infectious disease outbreaks among gay men. 4/
@sh76 saidDo you think this monkeypox scare will turn out like the swine flu scare?

Monkeypox is not supposed to be very contagious unless it mutated into a more contagious strain. Or was made more contagious in a lab.
How do you think this will turn out? Is it a dud scare like swine flu was?
@earl-of-trumps said“Disproptionally affecting gay men…” is the term used.

But whatever happens, I am reasonably certain that closing schools and masking toddlers will not be the solution.
@metal-brain saidThere have been vaccines for this for a while now because it’s been sporadically appearing in parts of Africa, the one that seems to be appearing more than usual outside of Africa is the west African variant.
Line up for the new jab. They have vaccines for this too.
