It never fails to amuse that it's fine to send stuff over borders when it suits the rich by having it produced by cheap labour elsewhere, but you have to build fences to keep the impoverished cheap labour out.

It's sarcasm on a base level... And I love it!

You think the people working in maquiladoras in Mexico are the same individuals that fill up half of 18th Street Gang and/or hang out outside of Home Depots here in Los Angeles? Wow! When do they sleep?

Do they need to be the same people?

Of course it does! The gang members are dirtbags, shav. They hurt people. Shouldn't we protect ourselves from violent thugs?

The guys outside the Home Depot are fine as far as that goes (minor issues like tax avoidance and minimum wage avoidance etc), but how can we exclude one and not the other?

NAFTA buried the textile indistry in this country. I worked for that industry so, as you might expect, I'm "bitter".😞

So the Mexicans will do the jobs for so much less that even transport costs can be absorbed. Sounds to me like we've gotten fat and lazy.

Haven't you been re-programmed yet? You selfish Americans make me sick! Always thinking of whether or not something is good for you, and not even caring about the other people with whom you share this small planet! You must wash away the vestiges of patriotism and national sovereignty from your darkened thinking and join us as we march into the light of One World - our allegiances must be higher than national borders if we are to take the next step in our evolution. You are only impeding progress with such thinking!

The thought police are on their way to take you back for re-conditioning.

My post was complete sarcasm. I hoped anyone reading would catch on due to the 'thought police' comment.
