This is what he is saying. Today. Yesterday I pointed out that this alien-type person said we should not have 'disinformation' allowed in this country. when he is guilty of it by telling us we could 'keep our doctors.

He is after the first amendment rights, kids. Come over to our side before it is too late.

On my side, I think the Democrats are damaging their brand with their conniving word-twisting:

e.g., reframing abortion rights as "reproductive health"

or framing a recent Floridian bill as "Don't Say Gay" -- when I would agree that the variety of human sexuality is not really a topic for 3rd-graders.

(However, that bill included some unconstitutionally vague language about "age-appropriate" discussions of sexuality, which indicates it was mostly for show pre-elections.)

In the USA we already live in a country where "misconduct" can be severely punished in the court of public opinion or by skittish employers, which already indicates a breakdown of the traditional rule of law, with its deliberations and safeguards.

Is that you, Sonhouse? This thread is about something else.

Obama is, of course, correct.

Try reading the First Amendment.

Stalinistic tendencies to frame and control "the narrative" is something we should all be aware of, as political beings, and just as human beings in our everyday interactions.

What's it really about then?

If you really are a lawyer, would that not imply that your verbal skills should be sufficient to get across what you meant on the first pass?

Edit: I'm a twilight trucker from a hoe-down town. 😉

Oh, come on, McChill. I'm sure you are capable of a more nuanced position than that. 😉

The text of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the USA:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

First of all, Obama graduated from Harvard Law. Obama taught law. He knows what he's talking about much more than you do.

Free speech means the government can't punish you for expression of ideas so long as those ideas don't incite harm or slander others. It doesn't mean a website can't ban you for stupidity.

I would go on a limb to say that he absolutely didn't say that, you're just talking from between your gluteus maximuses, without any link whatsoever. Whatever fox news poured into your dumb skull or whatever you misunderstood from a breitbart 20 second out of context clip.

It was probably something along the lines of "if you get banned on Facebook for dumb crap, that's not you free speech being trampled on". Which is some basic thing anyone with at least half a brain already knows

You're obviously not a woman.

In some areas of the country, Planned Parenthood provides many necessary reproductive health services, like pap smears, etc. Closing a Planned Parenthood clinic forces many poor women to travel outrageous distances to the next healrhcare provider.

Your saying this just seems like more "mansplaining".
