You are being a little unfair arent you? The congressmen are doing such a wonderfull job not reading the bills before voting for them and selling our country out before our eyes that perhaps not paying taxes is a perk for them. If anyone understands the Federal Reserve system it would be them, and they choose not to pay taxes. Can you blame them?

You know you are right. All I ask is that we stop calling them public servants. We are the public servants!! Of course, we need to rename them something else. Any ideas?

Actually, liberals were the only ones threatening to leave the country when Bush took over. Perhaps it is because they have other places to go that are socialist. However, the conservative, not so much.

Most politicians are bought and paid for. America is nothing to them.

It's not only that they are ignorant, but their pride in becoming impervious to evidence is particularly disturbing.

Obama inherited the worst deficit in history, and the worst economy since the 1930s. It may take more than a few months to straighten out the mess. Some of the fixes, like any good medicine, might make the patient appear more ill for a short period of time. Republicanism has worked like a cancer since the election of Reagan. It might be necessary to kill a few good cells.

    One, I can spell hear.

Two, I don't regurgitate the views of others, but look directly to the evidence. No Fox for me.

My views are my own. I actually remember when George Bush senior called Reagan's outlandish nonsense "voodoo economics." I campaigned for Reagan anyway. However, the more he spoke, and the more I learned of history, economics, and politics, the easier it became to see through the blinders I wore in those dark years.

Its all those disgruntled former Soviets who have quickly adapted to consumer corporatism the way that heroin use tends to increase the population of methadone addicts. I mean who else but the Russians would be supporting a PBEM chess site? Normal people are interacting with red hot pawn in other more imaginative ways!

If the democrats will push healthcare, I hope they will be open to keeping long-term affordability in mind, keeping the burden on small businesses light, and focusing on preventative care and cost-cutting through other means (pushing the move to electronic documents sounds like a net long-term plus).

Healthcare can be an investment, but there is an unquestionable need for a lot of compromise to make a healthcare bill work. If it reflects bipartisanship, fiscal conservatism, and a modest jump in benefits along with maintaining freedom of choice, then it will be hard to shoot down, and won't bankrupt America too much sooner.

However, there are going to be needed cost-cuts.

Look at Argentina's economic performance under the weight of bulging deficits in the 1980's s. I don't want the US to be next. Where will the cuts come from? I know Bush failed in this. Each President must deal with cutting spending and the sooner they realize this, the better the markets will react to America's economic direction.
