@AverageJoe1 saidTrump's first term had mediocre economic results before COVID (even though he inherited a strong economy and then ran up the federal deficit) and was a disaster if 2020 numbers are included.
No, I think they voted for economy, where he will excel, and 2ndly for getting rid of invaders. Here is a link in response to 'how much', as you and Sonhouse seem to be concerned about.
Why do you find it OK for the trillions that the Kamala freak was going to spend on 'prooooooogggrrams', but it is NOT OK for Trump to use money for much more important things than ...[text shortened]... ps://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/trump-says-no-price-tag-mass-deportation-plan-rcna179178

@no1marauder saidMaybe. But I don't think most people can detect the difference between the truth and a lie. So they rely on others to tell them. 'Trust' is more important than 'truth.'
The truth would have been a more useful argument then "price gouging".
The election was decided by about 2% percent and 2/3 of the People believed, incorrectly, that our economy was "poor" or "not good". Even a slight change in that perception and Donald Trump doesn't win.
If you lose trust, truth no longer matters. Just an observation.
@no1marauder saidI think at some point oil hit a long time low, and that produced a sense of euphoria that outlived actual changes in the economy as the huge debt started to unravel the apparent good times.

@spruce112358 saidOf course I do not know. I elected a guy who knows all the ins and outs of what you are talking about. Do you know that as a young man, he talked a mayor who hated him (NYC) into giving him a FORTY-YEAR abatement of taxes on his Trump Tower!?!?!? No, you are not aware.
You're gonna spend less, more, or stay the same.
So which? Do you even know? 😆
I figure he will get this too. Catch the train, man.
If you have $1m invested, do you know that the market, over this one week, was up 4%.......you would have earned $40k while sleeping. No, you prob don't know.
I truly think, I know actually, that you libs do not have a 'feel' for things.

@no1marauder saidNote, once again please, that you people keep writing about the past. Jan 6, Covid, (trying to fix blame on Covid , second guessing, the works 😆 ), cages, more works. Geez. Y'all need to get over it, the whys, the wherefores, etc, and focus on the future, w a guy who never sleeps and is all business, wields authority, fires people, such as that.

Just my two cents. Or, just get on the Sonhouse train, and that of Sue who says we do NOT need a businessman as president. Aww man, the company you keep.
Oh, yes, as you say, people forgot. I forgot jan 6. I think I will write about the statues torn down, , that really did upset me, but, I think I have other things on my mind.
@no1marauder saidYou want me to weigh in on detention camps. Well assuming he gets to a point where he can amass these illegal trespassers into one spot before shipping them (please save us the Auschwitz analogy) how do you think he should hold them? For how long?
OK, I'll hold you to that.
I doubt Trump has any intention to follow through with such an impossible plan, it's just something he said to keep chumps like you happy. But anything on the scale he kept talking about in the campaign would necessitate large detention camps given the years long waiting period for deportation proceedings unless there'd be simply "catch and release" (which you right wingers scream about).
I disagree that you think he wont put a great effort into it.
@no1marauder saidHere again, a blanket un-founded statement that Trump appeals to the uneducated. At least he could answer a question. Entertain us with a question actually answered by your hand-picked un-voted-on candidate.
US energy production hit record highs during the Biden administration. There was plenty more drilling, but more drilling can't possibly "solve" inflation for reasons I already explained to you i.e. IF prices fall, companies have no incentive to drill more and will, instead, cut back production (that's even assuming that other oil producing countries don't react to changes in US production).
There's a reason why Trump appeals mostly to the uneducated like yourself.
"How will you pay for it?"Weeeeellllllllll, I was raised in a middle class blah blah"
Don't even bother to try.

@Great-Big-Stees saidAhhh, the past. You gonna miss the train47 too?
Don’t most politicians promise things the people want and once elected say, “Well on close examination of the books, it seems the previous administration left us without the funds to do what we promised but hold on…we’ll do what we can”. Ya….right.😲
@no1marauder saidAww man, you left out the effect it had globally.

And can you imagine Kamala, or Suzianne for that matter, weighing in on global ramifications?
Let us see how 'the economy is affected' when Trump turns on the oil. Tell Sue, et al, that energy is part of every facet of our economy. Trucks who bring those 20%-increased groceries to us will not have to charge as much for eggs.
@AverageJoe1 said😆 Way more than that. My bitcoin alone is up more than that.

The market is just reacting to the extension of the Trump tax cuts. A lot of cuts to gov't spending combined with tariffs will cause a recession, though. But OK - you TRUST that DJT will 'do the right thing' on the economy. How? Who knows.
You are right, libs don't have a 'feel' for how you are feeling.
@no1marauder saidThis statement is too broad and leaves out too many elements. C'mon man, as Biden would say

@AverageJoe1
Under Biden there were over ONE MILLION deportations. And you call that an open border? It couldn't POSSIBLY be you just totally 100% biased against ANY democrat now could it?

@AverageJoe1 said@AJoe1,
If K won, I might say to you...she gonna spend a lot of gummint money. Must you fellers lets us win every debate?
You would be the only one or one of very few thinking you are winning the debate. You have to learn facts and how to debate before you can win a debate.
