-Removed-Because of the number of mutations, especially in regard to its spikes, you know, the things that allow it to gain entry into cells and reproduce. This isn’t conjecture this is known scientific fact. It is also thought to be highly transmissible. The UK government thinks it’s so dangerous that they’ve introduced travel bans and mask mandates.
Why are you obsessing about the WHO? Pretty much everyone thinks it’s dangerous and the fact that we don’t know exactly how dangerous makes it particularly dangerous if you can get your head around that one.
So my question to you is, ‘what’s your real issue with the WHO?’.
-Removed-If we do not know anything about it why do people in that there England have to wear masks in shops and in public transport.
It’s main danger is exactly our lack of knowledge concerning it, other than it has about twice the number of mutations from the original virus that delta has and look how fast that spread. The fact that we don’t know how debilitating, deadly, or vaccine resistant it is is what makes it so dangerous. The guy from the WHO wasn’t lying you just don’t understand what the term ‘dangerous’ means in relation to the global health implications, which is how the WHO think about stuff. They aren’t Just interested in the fate of us first world snowflakes who have access to vaccines and relatively good healthcare facilities, they will also be concerned about the danger it poses to less fortunate population groups.
Perhaps Sky along with its contributors and viewers should look at the bigger picture.
Again: what is your real issue with the WHO?
-Removed-I don't know, how can divegeester be making proclamations about how anvils are going to fall from the sky even though he's never been in a smithy?
Answer: you didn't, and the WHO didn't. Sky News claimed, quite inaccurately, that they did. Your beef should be with your commercial "news" channels, not with the WHO.
@jimmac saidYou do realise that just about all the news in your convict colonies is owned and controlled by Rupert Murdoch a.k.a. Fox Propaganda, don't you?
No its not, our news in Aussie quoted a " professional " claiming that no-one has been seriously sick from it yet.
-Removed-You've simply restated your question without making any reference to my detailed response.
Your seeming incredulity I would argue, comes from your limited understanding, and not from any appreciation of the extensive knowledge held by experts with years of research and experience in the field who are able to make fairly rapid judgement calls on emerging trends.
Will their prognostications always be perfectly on point? Who can say, but for my money, its better to go hard early and be ahead of the curve. By preparing for the worst, there's always the possibility of a silver lining. Hoping nothing happens however is a perfect recipe for disaster.
@kevin-eleven saidThanks for kevsplaining and not falling into that trap yourself! I don't know how we managed without you...
It really just seems so snippy and old-biddyish when a man trots out his verbal plumage for forum combat instead of courting or other positive and life-enhancing activities.
