@bunnyknight saidBlame the primary system, which is a side-effect of your favorite vote-stealing organization, the Electoral College.
@Phranny
Do you know that Bernie, Tulsi or Marianne weren't even on the final voting ballots? Biden, the darling of the elites, was literally shoved down everyone's throat while the truly honest and worthy candidates were cleverly eliminated.

@suzianne saidEscaping Tyrrany and despotism in England, our founders came up with a great plan to avoid that happening here. The Electoral College. We don't want a president that says "You will pay the price" to our border agents, for instance. And, even you would agree that we don't want mob rule. And certainly no one wants the minority to not have a voice.

@AverageJoe1 the electoral college was put in place so slave holding states would have more weight. It is a vestige of slavery. Now that slavery is gone, racists, through their control of the GOP, are trying to limit voting rights.
"Madison knew that the North would outnumber the South, despite there being more than half a million slaves in the South who were their economic vitality, but could not vote. His proposition for the Electoral College included the “three-fifths compromise,” where black people could be counted as three-fifths of a person, instead of a whole. This clause garnered the state 12 out of 91 electoral votes, more than a quarter of what a president needed to win.

But your post begs the question.....So you think, as does Suzianne, that the Electoral College should be replaced with the majority of votes? Period? Keep in mind Wyoming is a state of 500,000 people, CA is a state of over 80M. Imagine the good earthy people of WY having to live at the behest of a not-so-earthy group in CA.
So, Phranny..... No more electoral college?
@AverageJoe1 the electoral college should go. Gerrymandering needs to go. Restrictive voting laws that aim to make it more difficult for non whites to vote need to go.
@averagejoe1 saidToo bad it didn't work and Trump was elected anyway.

@averagejoe1 saidSo you're in favor of the votes cast in Wyoming counting more than votes cast in California? (Typically, you overstate the population of California by over 100%.)

Are people in Wyoming more important than people in California? Or are people equal, with an equal vote?
One person, one vote. This is democracy.
I cannot see how you think this is not fair.
@AverageJoe1
So you would much rather have a POTUS who says, PPE? Get them yourselves, we are not your store clerks?
@suzianne saidEverybody running for POTUS knows the rules of the Electoral College. It isn't stealing when you know to fight is for the Electoral College and not the popular vote. Nobody claimed this is an absolute democracy. It is a representative democracy.

The vote stealing arises when the SCOTUS rules against recounts, which is what happened in 2000. That is what you should be condemning.
@sonhouse saidSo all states can be relevant in a POTUS election. If there was no electoral college some states would become irrelevant and candidates would not bother trying to get votes in those states.
@Metal-Brain
Can you tell us WHY we have the electoral college?
@sonhouse saidIrrelevant. That is a digression away from the subject.
@Metal-Brain
Biden on his WORSE day is a hundred times better than Trump on his best day.
@metal-brain saidSpoken like a true ill-informed conservative.
