...of violating 18 USC 2071(b)

“(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.”

Would Trump be equally guilty if his speech contained "falsifications"?

Nonsense. She is not a Republican. By law you have to be don't you?

GOP bad, democrats good.

Or do we have to post the thread again about how all the people in the GOP have been sent to jail but not the DNC.

Please, no conspiracy threads about the Deep state being the cause, they are just naturally better. In fact, I wonder if democrats have a "good" gene.

This refers to something:

"filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States"

Can't imagine that applies to the piece of paper Pelosi tore up.

Yes, but this prohibition does not apply to any piece of paper that someone in public office happens to be in possession of.

Do you think a politician cannot tear up a copy of their local newspaper?

pelosi tore up an official document. The newspaper deal is strictly of your making, rather stupid to mention it.
